Surely this can’t be right…
World quests, if that’s what they are called, in the Emerald Dream now reward you with 28g 9s. I’m speaking about the climbing gear and the Djaradin forces slain quests. Similar quests outside of that zone award 600-700g, so I can only think this is a bug? Even a similar quest in Draenor awards about 84g.

Oh, I just realised that the same climbing gear quest in Zaralek Caverns also rewards 28g 9s. That’s so dumb if it is a planned feature.
I’ve not noticed any difference in those quests. The ones that award 28g or so also award an item (rep, resources or a seed). The ones that award larger amounts of gold only award gold, nothing else.
The award types you get from a WQ vary each week. So one week a quest might give small amount of gold and item, the next week the same quest might give just large amount of gold or a piece of gear.
That’s correct. There’s usually one quest that gives 600-900g, the rest is 28g + something.
