That’s been proven false with people waiting for brain to turn red and still spawning tentacles.
In my experience this happens when you stun yog by killing brain tentacles right as he’s about to spawn new ones
yeah that’s the only logical reasoning seeing how so many classic boss abilities gave variable timings.
