So many bots - can't even Level Properly

I have come back from an extended break from WOW after shadowlands, to play through dragonflight before the new expansion.

So since I have been a way I decided to level a new character, and I don’t care about speed leveling to get to the new max level and play the new expansion, I actually like questing aspect and enjoying my time. That being said right now I cant even level the expansion I enjoy questing in because of the massive bot problem. I am currently playing through BFA and got to freehold and low and behold loads of boomkin bots, killing everything in freehold, Basically locking me out of the quests…

The fact the blizzard says we have chromie time to enjoy the old expansions is not even worth it if you cant control this bot situation, you report and nothing happens whatesoever, so my only choose to level Is to either just fast level on a route or try a different expansion, where the same thing will probably happen.

I just think the state of the game is horrible and feel like the options are more limited.

Currently EU - Ragnoros in Freehold has been going on for some time now.

Yeap it’s unfortunately, when you go into the Bot Caverns in DF, it’s even worse xD

I would say most of the bots are normal people who have bought their botting software and are doing it to sell the gold on the AH to buy wow tokens on their main account etc.

Others are indeed Chinese, Turkish, Iranian bot companies doing their things, and then you’ll have randos who are just there leveling/grinding and get caught in the middle.

We’ll never get rid of botting unfortunately, while people are still willing to pay money for cheap gold.

If you read the post your reply may have been less dense.

The OP is complaining that he couldn’t level how he wanted which was via questing. He chose his expansion to level in and it ended up with him coming across a group of druid bots which prevented him completing quests in Freehold.

The issue isn’t that he can’t level, the issue is that Blizzard is so lazy when it comes to this that they refuse to put much manpower towards dealing with this problem. Ban waves take way too long to happen.

What good is a ban wave if they immediately create new accounts. It’s better to work at breaking the bots for good.

I’ve been playing since 2008 and never have I came across bots that stopped me playing.

There’s significantly less bots around with War Mode ON typically.

It doesn’t stop me playing, If you remember freehold there is quests to do in there, But when I have 50 Boomkin slaying every NPC in there, I cant complete my quests like talk to them etc, as they are instantly dead on respawn.

So my point is I wanted to quest that way, And the game is limiting me that way. So since you played since 2008 and never had a bot problem you must be lucky

Its not about leveling a character I know I can speed level a character, its about not being able to level the way I want like I mentioned from the OP. Its easy to speed level a character but I enjoy questing and did like Questing in BFA. So It kind of sucks that I can’t.

You probably skipped the quests at Freehold that he’s trying to complete. It’s not that you can’t level, it’s that you have to give up on bot infested areas if they are just mass farming the mobs.

I can sympathise that it’s pretty awful if you just want to see the storyline/do the questlines.

I sympathise with the situation, but my rogue is currently in tiragarde quite far in the questlines. About what specific quest do we talk about?

(I know remix exists. I did 1 character in remix and i do not feel the need to do the same thing again. Or actually, i dislike remix a lot)

i beg your pardon but after 18 years for me levelling is just a tax and i have no joy in it. i was just mirroring this in my post.
I have to say i levelled a toon in zandalar 2 months ago and i didnt find any problem. yes some bot but not so many to bother me.

Its just wth, this company even dont try anymore, bots? Oh yeah its part of the game.

Bots bring money to the house. They have no reason to kill them more than couple of times/year for a “show”.

There is not much you can do other than to report them. Blizzard takes action.
