So many question so few answers

  1. what is next for SOD , is it over after naxx ? do we get TBC sod ? do we stay in SOD and migrate to TBC when it is out ? do migrate to classic in TBC PTR ?
  2. the timing of releasing classic fresh couldn’t be more bad . is it systematic killing of SOD ?
  3. do we invest more time in the characters for a future , or keep it minimal (it is over any way).

The soon ™ note at the event was just infuriating. 0 news on SOD what so ever

we deserve better blizzard

The cherry on top is that they give us this uncertainty amidst the Scarab lord / rank 14 grinds which require huge commitment. I imagine many people would not want to commit if they knew there’s no future for SoD. And if you are serious about the game then you have to do it now just in case there is.

The thing we know so far is that it will stop moving forward at some point and just exist
separately on their own realms, like the 2019 version of classic is right now (those characters that didn’t progress into TBC and further)

I haven’t seen anyone I play with SoD even bother to roll a character on classic. I know, small sample size, means nothing yadda yadda…

I’d wager most people that rolled classic have either missed it the first time or want to prepare a 60 character for the TBC phase since that version of classic is unavailable anymore.

Or people enjoy running 40 man raids with warriors being dps-tanks and the rest of the classes being cheerleaders for the warriors.

Lots of this I reckon. I’m rolling a classic character but I don’t hold my breath. Running MC and ony again for months just after doing it on SoD isn’t that exciting.

We still have a couple of weeks before the next raids open and if you’re not doing the scarab lord there isn’t much to do in SoD atm.
The grind for R14 isn’t actually that bad since you don’t even need to cap 500k. It can be done in an afternoon if you premade.

As for your other questions, really doubt SoD will move on to TBC since it would completely jeopardize the rune system.
SoD brought a bit of TBC and Wrath into Classic so it will most certainly remain capped at 60.
Now the real question for me is, will they add more content to SoD after P7 or will they keep that content for a new Classic+ ?
There is no doubt to me that they are creating new content for classic but they probably wonder how best to deliver it.
Anyway SoD is healthy and will remain so for some time. Classic fresh isn’t gonna appeal to the same category of players.
