Just make all race + class combos possible since lore is clearly not a factor and precedent has now been set. Delete racial abilities if you must; the loss of a little flavor does not outweigh the benefit of more options available to everyone.
I’ve done what I can with my fabulous male blood elf but what I really need is a female orc Demon Hunter.
Make it happen Blizzard.

Oh no, a skintone you’ll never have to use exists… aw naw…

Never made it past the first sentence, did you?

Don’t have to.
Class restriction should be kept for the small amount of RPG that is still present.

Well, okay. But one could very easily explain anything with a backstory to make it fit. Blizzard does it all the time. Heck I’ll do some right now!
How’s about this: orcs were once enslaved by demons. Nobody likes to be enslaved. Orcs freed themselves and now hate demons and parlay with Illidan. Tadaaa: Orc Demon Hunters are now canon.

We can negotiate different skintone/allied races on the way to Blizzard HQ.

There is not such a thing as black blood elf’s. That would be blizzard acting like gear box.
I can’t imagine Blizzard being that pathetic

Welp, black skin is being added to them.

Will there also Asian ones be added?
Yes, I think that the new White-ish one is supposed to be asian.
No, I mean real Asian like ones. With eyes and all
No, no Eye Changes to them.
Where does dark skinned blood elves correlate to “lore is no longer a thing”?.
Last time I checked “…and they lost the purple hue in their skin” does not equal “they’re all of a pasty complextion”. I mean tanned blood elves have been around since TBC. Where are you drawing the line that “no, this amount of tan is too much, call the lore police”?
Also I think it’s odd that this signals “lore is no longer a thing”, when we’ve had stuff like:
- draenei are actually Eredar, and Eredar didn’t corrupt Sargeras, other way around (huge retcon)
- Illidan didn’t actually die despite us standing over his corpse. Same for kael’thas, and countless others.
- Zandalari aren’t actually pink trolls, they’re actually colossal blue trolls with glowing blue eyes and scales, can’t believe you missed it.
- The Old gods weren’t on Azeroth first, the titans got here first and old gods came after, don’t let the halls of stone dialogue fool you.
- Orcs weren’t always green, they were actually brown, they just changed green.
- Moira wasn’t being mind controlled by Thaurissan, she was actually in love with him, completely changing the dynamic of his apparent villainy.
- The Void isn’t actually evil and the Light isn’t actually good, they’re just forces that are used.
- The Shadow priests use is actually Void, Psyche!
- Tauren paladins aren’t actually tapping into their sun god, they’re actually tapping the light because otherwise the class hall makes no sense.
And more.
But you’re right, it’s making blood elves that bit darker that signals a complete disrespect of the lore.
If you got over the above, you can get over this. The precedent for twisting lore to make things fit was set well well well before dark belf. If this is “the last straw”, well, seems a fairly trivial twist to rage out over compared to what we’ve had before, doesn’t it?

It is as stupid as boneless forsaken.
Just accept the fact that the current Z generation is stupid and they like stupid things. Developers listening to them is what ruined this game. There is a reason why classic still has its audience.

Really isn’t.
Every single forsaken having no flesh on toes, elbows, spine and knees is stupid. Why would every single one have the same kind of decaying? I’d actually like to have more decaying as well as reduced. Like, imagine arms/legs all bone?
Skeleton Forsaken when?

I could not care any less about lore, so we are in agreement there. All I am interested in is less restrictions on player choice.
I don’t even think they look black. They look like a dark red-ish tan. The weird eye colors that’ll be available are more baffling to me. Unless I misunderstood, it seems like they’ll be able to have mismatched eyecolors ?
They also get a yellow tan. If anything, now that I think about it, it makes them more fantasy like, rather than just being humans with green/gold eyes and pointy ears. I don’t see a problem at all.

Well then, why freak out over darker skin belf as your original OP indicated? That’s an increase in player choice. If your stance is to support player choice, then by all means support more skin colours.
But this has nothing to do with class race combos at all. That’s an entirely different topic. I support less restrictions on those myself
