They already said we are not losing our stuff, though. We can keep our HoAs and keep calling on titan sky lasers… on Azeroth. It just won’t work in Shadowlands zones.
Where did they say that? A link please
At Blizzcon. I’ll not look it up now.
Okay, I did look it up. It was in the Q&A.

Q: What will become of the rank 4 essences we’ve acquired in 9.0?
A: We’re going to try something different i.e. not deplete it. As you move to the Shadowlands, your connection to the heart will be depleted. It will be functional in other areas.
What do you know… Azshara’s plan actually worked, tho’ with a little hickup, but still
She basically the first “villain” (I have the sneky suspicion, she is heading for the anti-hero route) in Warcraft whos plan worked
And She declared that she would claim the true throne of power before teleporting out of Ny’alotha to an unknown place…
I can’t think of anything else, but the Seat of the Pantheon… I mean you can’t find any realer (is that a word? ) true throne of power than THAT
For some power boost
Would’t be surprised if in the end a Titan sized Azshara just would just yank out the sword from Azeroth… to defend HER planet from the Void (she quite familiar by now, tutroed by N’zoth)
thanks for the link! good to know it only is depleted in shadowlands.
and not on azzeroth itself. I hope they threat all special things that way from now on!
Oh sure, don’t deplete the crappy heart, but deplete the artifacts in the most cliche, anticlimactic and cringeworthy cinematic in the history of WoW…
Yes, I’m butt hurt about losing my precious…
I’m just happy I get to keep my rank 4 ultra sky laser. I never cared if it was the best essence, I just love to use it!
I’m glad too. Just salty that they didn’t do the same with the artifacts…
But we needed the artifacts to deal with the giant sword plot! Itw as totally worth it, since the problem is solved now. … …erm, any moment now.
To be fair, though, the artifacts were class defining. So much so that some of their skills became talents. I understand why they would want to get them out of the way, and found it easier to scrap them outright than risking conflicting with class changes in the future.
The realistic answer, is it’ll probably be dealt with in the pre patch, or before hand in some other minor patch when we give back the necklace.
The way I think it’ll go down is, we’ll give back the necklace, the power from it will be drained into the earth, the titan in Azeroth will shatter the sword from inside, with an explosion of azerite power, and the wound will heal over. Leaving the titan in a healthy state, ready for use again in a future expansion.
It’s most likely will remain there, to have either the Jailer or Sargeras take it out.
Not sure if the planet is dying, just because Magni the The Speaker says so doesn’t mean that its true.
Sure she might have gotten injured, but dying?, no way…
Don’t you think its wierd that Magni can communicate with Azeroth?.
Blizzard even stated that Azeroth will never Wake up.
She is still asleep, thus keeping the Emerald Nightmare and the Emerald Dream to still be active.
I don’t buy Magni’s words during BFA.
And the Heart of Azeroth?, how would she had been able to give it to Magni / Us?.
Makes no sense at all.
…
All i can say is that there’s something extremely shady about Magni and Azeroth.
Why would they remove it? Leave it in a few expansions and it’ll become iconic enough to put on a t-shirt or mug they can sell on the Blizzard gear store.
This thing have much potential to become a new tourist attraction where you can spend your gold to pay the support for Azeroth and doing your part
it would totally destroy the planet though, at the very least it should make Azeroth uninhabitable for a few hundred years. I mean the Meteor that killed the dinosaurs caused a 2 year long night, almost all plantlife would’ve been gone, most animals too. The sword is quite a bit bigger than that.
but yeah, best not to apply too much logic here xD
You shouldn’t apply logic in a fantasy world, that’s not how it works, or do you have an explanation how Dalaran can fly without any motors? How can you even cast the fire without to burn anything before? Questions over questions…
yes I do have an explanation for that, arcane magic.
I’ve said this in a previous post but you DO need to apply logic to any fantasy world, it just needs to be consistent with the world it’s in. In lotr I have no problem with dragons flying around because we know they exist. If Legolas suddenly rides into battle on top of a hummer we have a problem.
Point is that bringing up too much science is unnecessary in a video game. Maybe a giant sword which was formed out of nowhere deals less damage than a sword which was made out of something before
Right, sure, lets throw everything below the carpet with a yell “its just magic you nerds chill out”! Anything allogical, everything allogical in the game. How about no, good sir?
that … that’s not what I said at all?
What I said is that Dalaran runs on arcane magic, not “it’s just magic”.
There are entire books on how Dalaran (and arcane magic) functions.
If you reread my post I said that logic DOES need to be applied.
Well, pulling it out in some way would probably also cause a lot of harm if you don’t have a good way to patch up the big gaping wound it leaves.
There is a reason arrows didn’t get pulled out straight away after being shot, you’d bleed out.
They have to find some way to instantly close the wound and stop it from bleeding more Azerite and potentially killing Azeroth afterall.
