Herald makes the rotation feel very smooth. Clicking the Hammer of Light feels like it has a delay. Plus I don’t have to count the holy powers. Herald is my choice both for ST and AoE. I particulary play M+ for the AoE reason.

I started TWW with templar and then changed to Herald when it got buffed. Ive not tried templar since it had a buff. Same as you though i found templar clunky. Doing raids and stuff i see most pallys using herald 
Hmm yes im feeling exactly the same that templar feels clunky and hammer delays everything… But was curious when an Templar today with less ilvl like 10 ilvl less nearly got to my dps. Then I tried templar but yea it just doesnt feel as smooth as herald. Im wondering why every good Retri Paladin is playing templar now though.

Templar have about 10% more total dmg after the buff if I am not mistaken.
Thats why ppl play templar 
i Swapped from Herald to Templar about 4 days after they buffed templar.
At first it feels clunky, but there is a very simple rotation to it, just punishing if u mess it up.
and nothing slap harder, than having 2x Hammer of lights in 1 Execution sentence. its NomNom
its deffo more complex than the herald rotation, i personally play Judge, Jury and Executioner as well, as i love having the variety to use my spenders on instead of just spamming Divine Storm.

Ret is flying both hero talents,light years away from other specs stop being over dramatic.
the only bit that is scuffed, is there seems to be a significant delay, between pressing Hammer of Light, and it actually doing it. it almost feels like you are lagging everytime you try to use it. Compared to everything else thats instant.

Precisely. I do not like it.
That is one of the reason why I play Paladin. Melee and simper rotation. Respect my preferance.

The problem is a weird 0.5 to 1s gap between pressing HoL and it registering.
Sometimes I think I haven’t pressed it.

templars hammer of light GCD is literally not hasted
when we are in the middle of our burst, trying to press as many buttons as possible, HoL halts our rotation with an insanely long GCD

Just like when you use final verdict? Or when frost dks use obliterate or when feral druids use FB. The delay feels really awfull I agree…
Yeah there’s almost a mini CD between pressing HoL and it hitting. It almost seems intentionally done to give a feeling of weight behind the strike. Ironic due to the name of it.
It does feel nice though when you can use it one after the other in PvP during a burst window. Rarely play execution sentence but lining up 2 hits in the last second of that is fun.
