So, thoughts on Battle of Dazar'alor?

So we are coming up on second reset and most people have seen the raid on atleast normal mode.

Without having done HC yet I believe just from a pure fun factor point of view that this is one of the most fun raids in a reaaaally long while. So many creative boss mechanics and the way of story telling from both alliance and horde POV.

What do you think?

It’s looking very good. I’ve only done bosses on normal, but it’s looking promising for heroic, which is the max level difficulty I have time for. Favourite encounter so far is Mechatorque.

I love the music, the scenery and the mechanics, and it felt like it has a story. Uldir felt like an empty, silent shell.

I must say… pretty mediocre (which doesn’t mean bad). The zones are decent, I liked the inside of the pyramid, bosses are quite interesting but overall I must say I have seen better, more captivating raids.

I agree, the raid offers me a lot of fun. It has both good design and fun mechanics in place and there is a good distinction of them between the fights. Its way better than Uldir in my POV, and for a second raid in the expansion is pretty solid.

remove conclave :))

rest is really nice

Yeah, I look forward to soloing this raid in the next expansion. As I have no intention of gearing any chars to step inside.

The first 3 bosses I did were pretty cool. Got two 385 pieces as well.

But then I got a 415 titanforged pair of pants from the Warfront on an alt I only use for mount runs and decided raiding wasn’t worth it anymore.

if it wasnt bugged to the point bosses are unkillable I’d be slightly more impressed XD On a serious note, it’s alright, nothing groundbreaking tbh. not thier best but are we really surprised?

It’s a great raid, I’m enjoying it more than Uldir (and I liked Uldir). Blockade is bugged and unkillable again from what I have seen though.

Really liking it here. Cleared completely on normal and heroic and three bosses on mythic and it’s looking promising. Opulence and especially Jaina are one of my favorite fights in quite a while. Jadefire Master is really fun on mythic too, with nearly the whole raid having to do Multi-sided Strike during the encounter.
Not a big fan of Mekkatorque, not because of the sparkbots but it’s just generally annoying feeling fight.
That being said, few bugs here and there can make the raid annoying. We had Mestrah just yeet herself out of the fighting area and reset the boss on a pull that was pretty much gonna be the kill.

Very fun raid. Not sure what happened with Jaina’s voice actor budget though because the lines are repeated soooo much.

My thoughts? It’s another raid. That’s it. :joy:

I don’t like when they turn me into a human but other than that I’m really enjoying the raid itself. Miles better than Uldir.

Played up to blockade til now
So far I love it.

The raids this expansion has been really strong, and I hope this is something we will continue to see trough BFA

I do however miss a little more storytelling at the end of them though

I’m a casual nowadays but Mekkatorque seems to be a wall, still, really enjoyed it overall, fun encounters and no butt loads of annoying trash like pre-Zul in Uldir.

i feel we are on a honey moon period. Depending on when 8.2 release i can see myself being bored fast if it’s 5 months long. Uldir just seemed to go on forever , and the 2 raid boss comming later this patch. There is no new assets , it’s just shrine of storms with a raid boss if you get what i mean.

One thing I am not a fan of is that I have to play as Horde for the last three bosses (where we’ll spend plenty of time), though the Berserking racial is lovely.

Boost sellers all over the place. Boosters happy. Damn those level 1 priests.
Wow Token sales up to fund this indirect ptw. Blizzard happy.
Other than that, seems a decent raid.

So far quite good. The fights are a lot of fun. Not the best raid or close to the best for me personally mostly due to it being a city I have been in the entire expansion already. SoO had the same problem for me, I liked the fights but the area did not feel special in a way.

There was something great about stepping into Karazhan, Ulduar or Throne of Thunder for the first time, even Blackrock Foundry to a much lesser extend.

The only boss I will probably remember in a few years will be Jaina, not because she is the last boss or a big lore character, but because it is simply a whole new area that changes over the course of the fight, instead of just being in that place I afked in at some point during BFA.

Lich King is kind of the same for me, I dont remember much from ICC or even the fight itself if I am honest but the image of standing at the bottom of the stairs facing towards the throne is one I won’t forget.

Sadly only a fraction of my guilds still plays so we barely have a team for normal but I also started doing more M+ this expansion and it actually, with the vendor, can be an alternative to raids. The raid itself isn’t bad, Opulence  , but from story or expectations it’s not there. “faction conflict” is meh. Azshara, Nzoth, or an unexpected pivot vs Light/Arcane Titans, what about death entities, Bwomsandi boss and Sylvanas motives?
