Each to their own. I like the outdoors and nature and tranquility; in different facets; from beautiful forests to cold mountains or arid deserts. They all appeal to me in various ways.
This, does not. If it was more Booty Bay like -actual tropical stuff mixed with ramshackle buildings- that’d be fine. But Undermine is a garbage dump. Literally. I don’t want to spend 6 months there. I really don’t.
eek.
I might not venture there then. I’ll see if I can group with a friend over the weekend and do it.
Although the game isn’t great at grouping for questing these days, phasing and instanced scenarios etc. that are often solo only.
Thing is though tah… Goblins where always a ‘‘garbage dump’’ kinda race… Booty bay is the pirate version of Goblins… When goblins where introduced to us as a race back in Kezan and cataclysm. We got a first glance at what Goblin world really looked like.
Well at least if you are subbed you should give it a try.
Ps as Tah said, now you can do things cause there are people around.
For example there is a quest to kill some guards with high Hp,they will be harder once people are done with the zone.
Probably will try at least. I think my sub runs out in April. I might do another month or two after that. Working on some bucket list things. Insane title for one which is a bit slow…
Yeah, I didn’t like Kezan either; ugly, dark. But I like places like Booty Bay, Ratchet, Gadgetzan and such. But Undermine is nothing like those places.
It feels busy, chaotic and lived it, like a big town often does; I’ll give it that.
But… That’s not the kind of experience I want when playing WoW.
I suppose sort of ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ vs ‘Skyrim’ in terms of feel. I prefer Skyrim.
I highly recommend you start using the “Interact” key. Makes interacting with stuff a lot easier and quick, like them rock climbing WQs you can quickly scale.
And you are right it nearly feels more like a dumb then a city but I guess that’s so fitting for the goblin city where they don’t care for the environment or the people around them.
And when we listen to gazlow undermine is a city even goblins don’t want to be
Yeah, true. The issue is: Blizzard has made zones before where ingame people didn’t want to be there; but that doesn’t mean the zone should be something that players don’t want to be in.
I get that The Maw was meant to be this scary, dangerous place, but as a player I didn’t want to be there because it was ugly, depressing and not fun. Being punished when playing is not fun.
Now, there’s not quite that much ‘punishing’ in Undermine, but it’s not a zone I want to be in either and as a player that’s a problem.
More so when it’s part of an expansion that, out of the 5 zones it’s had so far, I’ve only liked being in one of them and found two of them ‘okay to be in for a bit’. Now we have 6 zones and another one I don’t want to be in. That’s not the type of statistic you want, I’d think.
Quite enjoying the change of scenary from “creepy spiders of shadowy evils” to “can I interest you in this rocket powered sofa? Wont explode in 10 mins or your money back!”
