So Undermine is here! What do we think?

This is definitely one of those updates to the game.

I like it. I haven’t loved a capital cities design so much since suramar revealed in Legion.

I do wish the server side lag wasn’t there but that’s to be expected on launch day.

Undermine is a cool zone, really went all-in on the Goblin theme, but the lag is really a wet blanket on the whole thing so far, made worse by Season 2 still being a week off, so Undermine world content is the only new content. (Okay, and the new Delves which still drop Season 1 stuff)

Don’t know cause I’ve been stuck in Bnet… Initializing for an hour and a half… Tried everything but Bnet seems to be broken for me. Thanks Blizz…

I enjoyed the opening cinematic and area pre-Undermine. I really love the jazz music, I’ve always loved jazz music. I don’t like the art - that isn’t to say it isn’t very well done, it’s just… very well done garbage yard.

I liked the campaign story, side quests are …okay. I am miffed that my On a Paler Horse doesn’t work and hope that is merely a bug. I’m able to solo the elites mentioned earlier with below 610 ilevel as a frost DK so that’s not an issue.

I miss flying because I get very lost trying to find if somethings up or downstairs and in the next house next to me. I can’t stand DRIVE, it made me feel sick within 15 seconds but that’s fine, got my horse.

I don’t really care for the end game content, I’ll probably be sticking to weeklies in the other part of TWW.

And as mentinoned, the lag is terrible now, even on my little low pop server, but I expect as much for the first few days.

Tzz…all these jazz haters :stuck_out_tongue: , the music is great!

Or bohren, would fit pretty nice too, still like it tho

Feel like a no from me. Not somewhere I want to spend the next 6 months. Music is fine but will get annoying. Its laggy and buggy. Aesthetic is meh. Time gating content is ridiculous. Another Blizz L it seems.

its prett obvious that the talents from grpahic / music designed eithr left blizz or were let go .

its yet anothet compellty ufailed patch .

but it doesnt matter - they will probably toss another 100 euro mount in a month or 2 to salvage it

Big nope, the zone looks cool which is the only positive.
Godawful music, the same recycled kill x mobs or gather 6 x quests alll over the place (there was so much potential here to do something cool with the quests too…), the racecars feel awful to drive.
I did the campaign in semi-afk mode and left, prolly never to return there except to fly to a dungeon/raid.

I quite like the zone, it’s interesting and has nice detail. The lead in quests were enjoyable and gave a good reason to be there. I don’t mind the 3D maziness of it, given a week or so I will know my way around.

There was a bit of confusion with WM on earlier on the shard I was on when a crate dropped in the pvp area before we realised we were, apart from one ally pala, all horde and to stop fighting each other and open it.

For me the main downside is the car. It made me more motion sick than dragonriding ever has. The problem is without the car the zone feels huge on a normal ground mount. In fairness I have a cold so it might not be as bad normally, but given I struggle with driving games it might be a no go for me personally. I appreciate thats a me issue and is just a feedback comment.

I am sure as a zone it will grow on me.

…I take it the campaign stops at 4/6 …?

At the moment not really a fan, although agree it is somewhere new to go with new quests.

The car was really annoying me, so I managed to change it to the caddy/slower setting, ok it slides but better - I was swearing for awhile and remembered how I was at the start of DF and the flying style and adapted, so will in time with the car.

The place is cramped for me, in terms of being in and out of the buildings so much, I know I will get used to it, but at the moment for a new patch I’m going to visit it in small doses :+1:

Lag City. Where’s the rest of it?

I’ve barely played it so in 3 weeks when I’m back and if I decide to renew my sub I’m sure I’ll have fun at least. The music is lovely and the story and side quests so far quite enjoyable

I think the game should more clearly guide players towards the slower engine, or maybe even default to it, it makes a big difference to the whole D.R.I.V.E system, which is downright off-putting with the basic engine.

I like the city, it has its charm. Makes me think of American capitalism in the 50s - 60s, with no regard to polution, no green policies, etc… Exploit everything to max.

Even the music is on point of that period.

the problem with that system is that its good on paper but just doesnt work with how cramped and full of nuks and crannies that place is.

it would be awesome system for vast open spaces - not for small cramped ones.

i just ignore the car unless i have to go to the other side of map and just use mount there.

just like siren isle this place sufferes from not having flying mounts.

game just doesnt work withotu them anymore.

but Ion has obssresion with taking flying away from players .

so players have to suffer

I’m not a huge fan of Goblin themed stuff, but putting that aside I they nailed the ambiance and whacky stuff that any Goblin fan would enjoy. It’s just not for me.
Quests so far is generic killing slimes, opening valves and flying/bombing stuff with Goblin themed devices. The D.R.I.V.E system doesn’t interest me at all. I think they tried to replicate the success of dynamic flying, but either way it sucks to once again have a new zone where flying is removed.

Basically the content is fine. It’s more stuff you feel like you’ve already done before. I no longer expect to be blown away when logging into this game. I’m too old and played it for too long :upside_down_face:

Most likely won’t be playing any end-game content this season. My M+ group haven’t shown any interest in coming back this season, despite Blizzards effort to rectify some of the damage they did to the game in season 1. My sub is active since I played a bit of Classic, but this is the first retail season in many years where I’m not really excited to play the new content.
