bro. you gave me instant depression
There is no technical reason why you canât do this.
This is the real reasonâŚ
Force players to farm for the items they already have so they can upgrade it
True but with how small the drops are, you also save a ton of time in trying to get the items you want. A solid group can smash a +2 in 5 minutes, a full +15 takes much much more + consumable + etc.
Despite a lot of keys, there are some items that I still havenât seen after the initial low level m0 drop.
Iâm sure will be someone (dratnos?) with a spreadsheet to calculate the sweetspot between key lvl and opportunity for upgrade.
+2 has multiple advantages.
- You can do it fast with lower fail rate and guarantee 2 items.
- You can be more picky composition. For example pick a full leather group (who cares about bloodlust in +2?), or full plate group, if your main spec is boomkin, you can go tank and set loot spec to balance, etc.
- The low ilvl combined with flexibility in group composition, increases the chance of being able to trade.
Yes, but valor will have a reliable drop rate. Spending 3 weeks worth of valor is better and less frustrating than farming 3 weeks for a small chance to get a desired item.
The same applies to a +10 with the gear you or even I have. Sure, you can still botch it, but you REALLY have to try or it has to be a bad week in combination with a hard dungeon.
If I were to farm a specific drop (which I probably will end up doing for the DOS trinkets) Iâd just join random +8 - +11 keys with as many guildies as possible or make groups requesting specific keys in that range.
I highly doubt it will be efficient to grind low level keys for base items to upgrade because whatâs the point of getting the item that you want when you will need weeks of Valor to make it usable. You might as well spend those weeks framing a higher level base item and perhaps get two items to upgrade instead of just one.
Yeah I mean its not like we are paying for them 13 euro per month on the top of the base game. Its unreal to want something so normal.
idk about what the management thinks, but a lot of people have stopped pushing keys till the next patch⌠which kinds sucks
People who want to push high for the challenge have no reason to not.
But people who would have tried to farm 210 gear to upgrade later with valor⌠well thereâs no point in that is there.
If Blizz didnât think players would take this as a signal to âtake a break now and farm on 9.0.5 launchâ I have no idea what they were thinking.
I hope that one day all players will awake and see how many years this greedy behaviour was done to us.
I want to love this game but I lost my trust in blizzard. There is no system, no new announcement, no new nothing that I can enjoy and look forward to. It´s all based on the money and casino machine. No passion, no love, no warmth.
But I have deep hopes that every bad behaviour and every lie you breed comes back to it´s creator.
I think the Valor system as it will go live in 9.0.5 wont change the feeling that M+ gear progression gives the playerbase. The intention behind it is good, no question about that but people will realise how long it actually takes to make Valor a meaningful thing in the gear progression and that they are still waiting for Wednesdays to get a chance at good gear.
I couldnt agree more with this. Every time it has to be an hamster wheel. Every time it is restricted in a way that blocks player choice. Every time it still has to revolve around the Vault. And there are always these âBUT!â's in every fix or system they give us. âYou can now upgrade your gear with Valor! Work towards the pieces of gear that are BiS for your class like you all wanted since Legion! !!BUT!! The weekly Vault will still provide better gear because we capped it at an ilvl below what it provides and by the time you can upgrade it to that level it doesnt matter anyway because you got multiple pieces from the Vault already. Also: did we mention that it takes at least 2 IDâs to upgrade it to that level and you have to drop it with these abyssmal droprates in the first place? Have fun!â
I really hope they just uncap Valor and increase the upgrading system to 226 to make this system actually feel like a progression and something worthwhile and bring the Vault back to what it was meant to be: a bonus instead of the entire focus of the game. Even if it would take at least 4 IDâs with how the currrent upgrading system works and these droprates.
I know that in the great picture of things this wont change much either, but at least blizzard gives us that sign that they understand. That they are not just only in for the money by putting us on the treadmill to wait for Wednesdays every week and log off for the remaining 6 days but ACTUALLY care about the game and the playerbase. My hopes for this are slim but Blizz has surprised me in the past.
I donât see that at all. Theyâre doing the bare minimum to keep engagement up without really fixing the problem. Every expansion they manage to give us a game so broken that youâd be better off coming in a couple months into the expansion, when the beta testing is over. Of course itâs not beta testing. We know they beta tested. We know theyâre not stupid. We know they reduced the anima amounts when it went live just to buff em up again later. And as always there is 0 compensation for the time put into the broken systems. Screw the gamma testers.
If I came in with the next patch, all would be good. Having put a lot of hours into the first months of the expansion, however, I feel like Blizzard is just happy to toss my investment out of the window. Iâm Sitting on objectively worse gear than PvPers who get like the best of all worlds when it comes to gearing up. Not only am I super far behind these players, the implemented means to catch up will not kick in for weeks, all gear I farmed up to this point has to be replaced by upgradeable variants of the same items mid season and even through all that weâll still be behind 6ilvls without any option for a 233 weapon.
Iâve been pumping M+ the past couple weeks but this week so far Iâve barely brought myself to do 2 on my Warrior twink in hopes of a certain conduit (which didnât even drop).
I just feel so utterly defeated by this.
u need like 20.000 honor for a ilvl 233 pvp weapon âŚ
I guarantee anyone grinding those kind of ratings are honor capped by the time they hit the next upgrade point. Plus even not, 20k honor takes like a day to grindâŚno biggie
yeah i never done rateing before i spent one time 100 hours in pvp and that was when comp stomp was up
