So what about Blizzard's own rules? First world 80 by exploit in 9h? Why not? Who cares?

Player Naowh done it by using og wrath spot. There is an elite mob that non stop summons zombies and if you tag them before he summons new ones, when he does they despawn and you get full xp for the ones that despawned. Also using 4 dead lvl 1s in his party (multiboxing) makes it so he gets the full group xp.

That gave him near-two milion experience per hour.

Do you think if he was normal player not a Echo’s member, someone would question if that was legal?

Thats official word from Blizzard’s Support:
You are responsible for how you and your account are represented in the game world. Cheating in any fashion will result in immediate action. Using third-party programs to automate any facet of the game, exploiting bugs, or engaging in any activity that grants an unfair advantage is considered cheating.

This was also reason why Athene got banned by same thing.

What about druid’s flying form? Druid could be summoned to Northrend from Outland in their flying mode. There was max herbalist in 15 minutes after Wotlk Classic relase

I have been following this story too, dont watch any streamers so never heard of him before…hopefully blizz will make an anoucement about it.

Im a slow leveler like exploring etc I was never in the race, but I feel sorry for those that tried legitimately for first 80.

This is not equal to what athene did, as far as i know athene abused instance mobs tagging, and tagged a ton of mobs had people leave pt and still helped kill it, for all the xp to go to him. Clearly a case where you are doing deliberately unintentional stuff, knowing it was never intended to work like that. Naowh was farming this mob on retail all the way up till launch for example.

This here has always been in the game and he did nothing “dubious”. The group xp is the only thing in question for me.

The healer was there out of his group to help him get WF by healing him.

Breaking it down to a 2 man healer/tank pt, the xp is barely better than a normal speedy dungeon spam group at 6-800k/h, which is why it is outrageous for people to even compare it to previous dubious exploits that has been done before.

Whats the deal with these streamers? (I’m too old for all that stuff, never watched any of them)

Do they have some sway over Blizz or something? Do people follow them about if they leave the game etc? to play something else

Exploits are opinionated, and Blizzards opinion on exploits are very opinionated. You could say standing in one spot, killing a mob and it spawning over and over again as soon as you kill it is exploiting, but it’s “dynamic respawns”.

Also not really caring if someone hit 80 in 9 hours or even 1 hour. If they want to skip a huge part of the game by doing that just to get realm first or some other pointless garbage, then whatever.

Athene getting banned wasn’t justified, he just did the same thing he always did for his world first or speed levelling records, they just decided to ban him that time. This exploit, it’s quite a bit worse than what Athene did but I dunno.

Maybe they should fix it so that other people don’t have the same idea. Grinding dungeons for solo XP or in groups of 2-3 is one thing, mob tagging is a bit less acceptable (because it requires other players to sacrifice their XP for the leveller), exploiting a pretty big bug in the game is another level.

So he should be banned cause he outsmarted everyone else? You are just mad dude. Also naming ppl on forum is banable.

Wasnt this thing even supposed to be “fixed” ? … There were people getting banned for this originally …

Its not just tagging, its simply exploiting a bug … imagine those nonstop respawning fish in netherstorm were giving XP …
