So whats is the point of Skittish affix?

I see no point behind the design of this Affix aside from being straight up annoying,

so the Tanks pulls, than dps has to auto attack the pack for few seconds than start to use abilities ! uhh ok ?

so if anyone can see a legit point of this idiotic affix, you can go ahead and enlighten me, because the only philosophy I can think of behind this affix is that they force you to take either rogue or a hunter to counter it

Design wise it is probably my least favourite affix.

In theory it requires DPS to pay a little more attention to what they’re doing, but in practice it often means get another hunter or rogue into the group.

As a vengeance dh this often comes down to: get a td proc and tank the enemies without problems or get no td proc and lose aggro.

Affixes just exists to annoy casual players and punish them for playing non raiding content. And lets not forget that blizzard made mythic plus harder in this expansion. If mythic plus was balanced ; we wouldnt drop key levels after tme limit or bad timing runs or group disbands and loots would be as strong as raid gear. Also affixes affect different classses more than others, ı saw people not doing certain affixes because their class doesnt perform well on that stacked version of affixes on that week.If i was the m+ designer; i would remove them all together and scale bosses and mob’s hp accordingly with key level.

so that rogues and hunters can finally find groups that invite them of course because otherwise they are not viable at all
/s

skittish is a non affix if you invite a hunter or rogue. Bonus points if you invite 3 hunters for more cheese

You could argue all affixes are there to annoy people.

You have no idea how much i hate the bursting and bolstering, if you even have semi big add pile, it either gets super powered up or they explode.
IM TALKING TO YOU SHRINE OF STORM.
As a tank with sometimes distraction problem when the game is literally doing the samething over an over again, i just hate affixes.

Just bring a hunter if you struggle with aggro

I disagreed with most of what GC has did to the game, but I agree on his views on this matter

This week is good, as a tank I keep attacking the highest HP target, if that warrior cannot stop AOE then let him get aggro and die

JUSTICE!

I’ve seen some clever plays with Skittish in melee heavy groups
warriors with shockwaves, shamans capa totems, war stomp from tauren just chain cc’ing the adds untill you cleave them down.
But i would agree Skittish=inv range classes=easy run.

i guess we have to invite rogues and hunters for it, stick with that every time this unnecessary affix is up, sigh

At some point I have 80~90% agro on all mobs as DPS and I can’t really do anything. Other moments my TD procs first hit and kills me because of instant agro.

Generally speaking not a hard affix, the problem is that with all the random corruption it’s just so badly designed.

Not a magic solution. Hunter in my group used misdirect all the time and I still got agro on some pulls because of random procs or bursts.

Or maybe tell your not-so-smart-dh to wait literally 2 second before going full beam/barrage.

I feel totally free of guilt if I am grouping up mobs and the tard goes in pushing 500k dps.

Guess someone was too trigger happy with flagging this morning lol.

I guess with the increasing dps damage by corruption, and tanks running more versatile, skittish is becoming a real thing :grimacing:

Skittish just seems like a counter intuitve affix, much like how nerfing tank aggro was counter intuitive.

The game has gotten a lot more fast paced which means that DPS is expected to keep their rotation going with minimal interruptions
Except when dealing with skittish where they have to randomly wait for the aggro to normalize, even if they haven’t done anything notably wrong outside of playing their class as they should. Least with bursting the DPS can clearly see when to slow down but for skittish the aggro can go from 0 to 100% in an instant.

You do one +15 and you get a 475 ilvl item. This will be my way of getting 475 ilvl, because I simply cannot do mythic raids. Too hard for me, too much stress. I think the gear in Ny’alotha being slightly better is alright, considering you can farm +15 dungeons and you can’t really farm mythic Ny’alotha. I think gear should be proportional to the challenge and right now, m+ is much more rewarding than raiding.

Otherwise I agree - deleveling your key should be your choice. It shouldn’t be tied to the timer. If I want to run +10 untimed runs, let me.

There’s one problem though - imagine someone at 420 ilvl, gets a party to boost their key to +15. Now this 420 ilvl cannot do +15, they’ll get one shotted by almost everything. And now you apply to a party and it’s this guy. Your party leader is dying all of the time, because they boosted their key and they refuse to delevel it and it ruins fun not just for them, but for the entire party. So even if I hate key deleveling, I get why it exists.

I feel the affixs are just to make you go about packs different. Skittish is a bit dull. I feel its goodjl in theory but in practice it requires very little different in playstyle.

Maybe something like low hp enemies run in fear and try to alert other packs. Could be interesting

I think it originally was supposed to give a bit of a ‘‘feel’’ of how the game used to play where aggro was important and needed to build up, rather than how it is now when tanks just get 100000% more aggro baseline
