So whats the score with all the Boosting Teams in RBGs recently?

Started getting most of my alts around the 1800/2000 rating in rbgs for mogs and conq farm for boxes and my word, pretty much every other RBG is just a full russian team with Hero exp/mglad exp and then just 2 people with 0 cr and their highest ever rating at 1300.

Don’t mind boosting, but it’s a little sus.

Boosting exploded in BFA or whenever they started making cool mounts for it and PvP gear being both good in pve and only require 1800 rating to get the elite transmog. Before then you would meet boosters but they would be significantly higher rating most of the time and significantly rarer, and it was all for RMT. Now a days, joining up around 1900 MMR, it feels like you have a 50% chance to run into a boosting team in RBGs or a booster in arena in 2s.

Because of this, the whole game feels really weird - its fine until 1700,1800 mmr, then you hit the magic 1900 MMR number and it genuinely feels like you swapped from fighting fresh players straight off the launcher, to multi rank 1s who have played the game for over a decade.

Like as a personal example with arena, my all time peaks is 2450 or so in 2s, at that rating I was facing actual gladiators, on their mains, playing meta comps. This was in Legion. In BFA onwards, this happens at 1900 rating. I had to fight Minpojke and Ziqo x2 in a row to get 1800 rating on my druid and most seasons I have to fight Pshero+Ziqo/Hydra or Drainerx+Tren if I try to pust 1950 rating.

When you aren’t fighting actual rank 1s on their 8th alt that is gearcapped, you’re fighting one of dozens of high glad/rank1 streamers who do ‘viewer games’, which just involves the streamer playing the current FOTM OP spec, which right now is ret, queueing up with a 1500 rated player, averaging their MMR out to be around 1900 mmr, where they absolutely destroy you with superior gear and game knowledge and FOTM specs.

I personally don’t do RBGs anymore, but having spoken to people who do, I know this is the case there as well. Boosters don’t care though, because they make a living off of selling boosts or streaming ‘viewer games’, and they don’t particularly care about the fact that they are the primary cause of every single bracket dying the millisecond you hit 1900 mmr. It did not used to be this way, and they can whine all they want about how dead arena or rbgs are, but they are the primary cause of it. I’m not going to queue up to rated PvP if 50% of my games are against hydra, ziqo, pshero, minpojke, drainerx, tren, cervantes or whoever.

In short - be more like Bicmex and GTFO low rating as fast as possible. That dude sits at 3k+ on like 5 hunters at once

This happened to our pvp guild in MOP. We just couldn’t continue at all. The guild gradually disbanded. Before that we had 2 RBG teams, main and alt (newbies), but in the moment the main one reached 1900 MMR, we just couldn’t win any game. We were meeting mostly glads and 2.4+ players.

So this issue is not new, it’s like from the very start of RBGs.

I personally think this is the best (would say amazing) part of the game today, that you can queue and play against legends of the game, just like that, as a complete casual. The decline of the PvP scene has brought them “closer” to us, as the player pool is much smaller, which itself is a great opportunity.
I remember when I was younger, 10-15 years ago I was watching wow pvp videos, compilations, etc and trying to copy a lot of the stuff I saw on the best players.
Fast forward, I queued into Lontar and played against an AWC player, felt so happy that I still remember the day.
How many other games give you the opportunity to fight against THE BEST players just by normaly queuing and playing the ladder as a casual? Its like playing footbal in the back of the house with some friends and Messi and Ronaldo show up to play with you.

Either they ban for boosting in rbg or delete rbg as a game mode.
There shouldn’t be boosting in a game at all and at the moment is has become a business it should’ve been closed down.
