So, who are you "Uther"?

After all story about Uther, all what we saw about him in Bastion and etc., I have only one thing which is left unclear to me. With who we have a talk in legion paladin story? It’s definitely not Uther from Bastion, and it is not the part of his soul which was consumed by frostmourne. So, who it was? Or, even better to ask - why the light faked him for us?
Discuss?

Sure hope Blizzard ain’t gonna introduce us to a third Uther exists plot further down the line

Could still be. If you summon someone from the Shadowlands they have no memories of the Shadowlands at least while they are in the mortal realm.

Must have been a dreadlord.

Now that you mention it, Mal’Ganis was suspiciously absent during Legion, and he’s definitely got a long track record of deceiving Paladins…

We’re on our fourth or fifth Uther tbh.

Frostmourne was shattered and was used to craft the frost DK artefact swords. Maybe Uther’s soul fragment was set free too and stuck around. I’m not sure however, just speculating.

light bless you

So, right now with all what we get:
Uther sould was separated on two parts: first one which was consumed by frostmourne and stored in torghast, second one which were sent in bastion
no other 3rd and etc parts of Uther.
Both of them couldn’t know about Tyrion’s fate and guide us to him.
So, the main question for me still not answered

That would have been the bastion uther. Every dead person you summon into the realm of living gets summoned out of the Shadowlands. They do not however remember anything from their time in the Shadowlands while you summoned them. I think they should however remember the part when you summoned them when returning to the shadowlands.

All Uther said was that Tyrion is still alive. Either through a personal connection or through the light.

Which reminds me of something.

SpoilersIn the quest to save Uther's soul fragment we enter one of the Jailer's storage rooms in Torghast. In there, there are several other soul fragments, one of which being "The Golden King". Why do we at no point think "hey, this looks suspiciously like Anduin's, maybe I should take this one with me just in case I might need to de-corrupt Anduin"?

It seems like such a silly thing to do…

Spoilers Thats Anasterian. Kael'thas' father. There are also soul fragments of Terenas Menethil and others. Pretty much everyone slaughtered by Frostmourne

Yeah, the other ones were easier… But that makes sense I guess. Thanks for the heads up

It was all a dream, it was all fake. Story ended after Legion.

He couldn’t know that.

Doesn’t work. Only Anduin in SL have some strange possibility to call the light, but only him, no one other did such before.

Bastion Uther at that time already was corrupted by Devos and couldn’t be represented as his full-of-light soul.

I’m pretty sure that we have just what Lady Moonberry told before Uther chapter:

…so lazy writing

Ironic that writers wanted to troll a bit Martha DC move, but forgot about own bad writing and missing such important details

*at nzoth campaign, all what we see right now - his illusion

Magic.

All paladins have a connection to the light. All of them. Also youre wrong about Anduin being the only one the light responded to. The Light quite literally responded to Tirions plea on top of Icecrown Citadel. Its what caught Arthas off guard because he never assumed the Light itself would interfere there.

What i said would still apply. Snatch him out of the Shadowlands with him not remembering anything from the shadowlands during that moment. Also Uther was never corrupted by Devos. She baited him into giving into his emotion and desire for vengeance.

Lazy writing

in shadowlands, not in the mortal realm

That’s how the forsworn corruption works

very lazy argument and i didn’t saw that any of this was confirmed anywhere, why anyone shouldn’t remember anything from shadowlands? it’s totally illogical. Well, a lot of things from SL illogical after all…buuut…i hope to find explaination for all of this, not only the reddit theories

Call it that. However a lot of stuff happens because of magic.

Yeah great. Doesnt mean hes the only one capable of that. Pretty much everyone using Light magic inside the Shadowlands has the light respond to it because being able to invoke light magic requires the light to grant you its strength. Also there is a breach by the Light in revendreth and also a breach straight above the maw that leads into the mortal realm. Also the Light world is a different cosmic force and nothing states that other cosmic forces cant enter other cosmic forces.

Thats not corruption.

It was stated during Blizzcon. Also to prevent living your life differently i reckon.

Could you please send a link to that? Seems i missed that

Wasnt blizzcon. Was Steve Danuser.
