When a friend logs in, the popup notification now appears in the middle of the screen.this has been happening to since the last reset, and its driving me nuts. This can NOT be moved to a different place through edit mode. i have found that this is happening to alot of people, and threads about it are already up on the US forums.
These bugs are going from the sublime to the ridiculous at the moment. I know its 20 year old spaghetti code but things like this make firing most of your QA seem less and less like a winning long term strat.
You do know that my “fix” is for until they fix it. But sure if you wanna play with popups in the middle of your screen until this company finally gets good, have at it.
I think you’ve taken that completely out of context. All they were saying was that if they just fixed it we would not have to do all this other stuff as a work around, and they have a valid point.
Have you actually done coding? Finding a fixing a bug takes a while since the bug doesn’t just appear where you change code. Thus you need a workaround until it’s fixed.
Nobody was saying that you don’t need a work around until they fix it. It was just said that if they fixed it then you wouldn’t need one and you choose to attack the poster for that.
And yes i have done coding for 29 years, i do it for a living, so i’m pefectly aware on how difficult it can be to track down bugs.
I think it’s on by default, or used to be anyway. Personally i’ve always had it disabled so i’ve not noticed it popping up in the center, but last time i had it enabled (which was years ago) it would pop up just above your chat frame.
If only others understood this. The daily foot stamping on all the bug threads is getting so tedious to read.
Do people really think Blizzard is leaving all these issues up just to pee off the playerbase. Clearly something has gone wrong and they are working on it. But the tempter tantrums from some are so cringe.
Yes it’s a nuisance and we can complain about the issue but really beyond they are working on it, we just have to wait.
Stuff happens, we get it. But maybe it would happen less if they focussed on quality and not profit above all else. Blizz used to be a byword for quality. This patch has introduced all kinds of weird rubbish, guilds are still bugged, target dummies don’t work, weird toasts fill the middle of your screen in the middle of a dungeon or raid.
Also, think of the poor whiners. They must be exhausted. On top of all the imaginary problems they create now they have the burden of real ones to kick off about.
Don’t get me wrong ,I agree on the whole the quality has gone down and turnaround time on tickets and issues is noticeable. However daily stamping of feet isn’t going to make it happen any faster.
Indeed, there will always be bugs in code, i accept that as it’s something i have to deal with in my own work. I do agree though that there seems to be some failure of quality control recently. Many of these bugs shouldn’t have made it to live and were indentified in testing but meeting release dates tends to get priority.
But it is what it is, all you can do is report and move on. There’s no point in stamping your feet spamming threads (as Puny said) as it won’t make a difference in how quick things get fixed.
Somtimes i do feel CM’s could be a bit more responsive, many pople are just looking for an acknowledgement that they are aware of the issue - on the other hand i don’t blame CM for staying quiet as they often just get attacked by the moaners if they do post updates
As I wrote I didn’t even know it existed and if it’s enable per default I should have seen them pops up before. But ain’t gonna argue wherever it was or not.
I just comment that uncheck toast fix it for me so people can take the advice or not. Not wasting more time on this. I’m out…
