Crusader Strike is about to hit low population realm. Lone wolf hit medium today.
Well,
phase 1 was classic with some new spells, new relevant specs and content such as Ashenvale and an easy 10man raid, it was enjoyable to play and i think everyone was excited to see what the future held,
Phase 2 was where the problems started to show, some specs were becoming extremely powerful which started a void in pvp, gnomer was okay, all in all, the phase was okay, not much to worry about, apart from some specs needing nerfs,
now, phase 3 introduced incursions, it severely damaged the economy, and made world questing / dungeons redundant for leveling,
pvp is crazy right now with all the changes going on, taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back, due to some classes being too powerful,
raiding, outside of sunken temple there is really nothing to do, because everything was handed to us through incursions ( gear, runes, gold, rep ),
so phase 4, its not looking good, everything needs to slow down, the devs need to go from 6th gear back down to 2nd, if sod is to improve, but i feel somethings are too far gone for that,
but sod will most likely continue to die off as the classic feeling also dies.
Our guild died because of this disaster of a transfer window. We got split between Lone Wolf and Wild Growth and most have now quit.
The way these transfer windows has been handeled along with the lack of communication has been a complete disaster.
It would have been better not to open transfers at all instead of this sh!tshow. But now the damage has been done, and you should open the transfers to let people group up with the rest of their guilds/friends.
I reckon most of the people stopping atm will come back for phase 4 at least to give it a try.
I know I will.
I enjoy SoD but the class imbalance is too much atm and I understand they don’t want to fine tune for a few weeks but then it creates a void they try to fill with on and off damage reduction that are getting hard to follow.
At least at lvl 60 they’ll be able to tackle for good some class balance issues but they better get it right otherwise people’s patience will probably run thin.
im extremally amazed how they are killing wow by removing wotlk and true classic in the same time by cata and failed sod moves maybe it is on purpose, they want to create emptiness and potential millions players before a brand new mmorpg project. i don’t know
Well, i do not agree with most of that.
-P1 was bad, BFD raid gear was too powerful, PvP was trash, hunter pets OP, Priests OP, WSG premade make most ppl to hate that BG even more, class balance bad, it felt good only because was something new and ppl would easy lvl up alt and make gold from quests.
-P2 was even worse, boring at all, Gnomer was awful raid and huge melee dps discrimination, they preformed worst, best melee was hunter and shaman (enh. and tank, great balance/sarcasm) and ppl on pugs asked for gs and logs even more for 40 lvl content (i just said CBA to Raiding until last phase). PvP wise it was worse than P1, SP, Boomies 1 shoting ppl, shamans being broken, and did not getting touched whole phase, but buffed more. They create the worst PvP event in wow history- STV event, total failure.
-P3- everything become worst. PvE wise- Raid was bad, they nerfed it 4 times in a row, still boring and bad, but being 20 man, and the weird SoD PvE community, asking pugs for job interview and logs, already pissed off most ppl, and having alternative way to get similar gear just made most ppl to not want to bother at all.
Incursions was another bad design, and it destroyed the economy for casual players, also leveling trough quests and dungeons become useless, and ppl spam 2 dungeons for Wild offerings, that is all they do until get 2-3 items, from new added vendor, and PvE ends here.
About PvP- it is in worst state ever, they simply do not know what to do, asking players for solution LoL, well, i hope they pay em, because all we pay to play, if they want from us to balance their game, they have to pay, right?
Damage is out of control, shaman still untouched, buffed more, being jack of all trades, Dots broken, huge class/specs unbalance they trying to figure out what to do adding reduction to dmg and healing. Most ppl now realize that, runes create a big mess, and they just do not belong to classic WoW, which is true, those skills were added in later expansions where game was in different state and can fit there.
That incident named STV event still there on P3, huge disbalance in Bgs not only between classes but factions, due to horde racials working way better than alli ones in current state of game and shamans being too good for team, and paladins being non competitive as unique faction locked class, that ending up, alliance do not wanting to participate in BGs at all and being disaster for those who want to farm rep or rank 7.
In Short- Most of us still having fun and playing it, but to be honest, it is in wrong direction from the start. There can be added more, but that is enough.
Peace!
well if you didn’t enjoy p1 then that sucks for you because i did have a great time, it did had pro’s and con’s, but it was far from " trash ".
but that raises questions, if youve hated sod since p1, why would you continue to play the game right up to p3? not far from p4.
The Discussion is not about for what reason we still play the game, open it and we will gladly answer you.
hmm weird response but okay.
Crusader strike EU is now also 60/40 in favor of horde, ashenvale incursions are almost impossible to do efficiently since there are horde griefers at all times.
before the transfers it went back and forth and it usually there was enough of alliance and horde at the stairs that it was difficult to freely grief, now if you are an alliance player you don’t get to farm efficiently, bosses, escorts are taken, the staris cannot be camped for easy quest completions…
i tried to transfer to a pve server but you cant anymore.
Not that surprising, in my case I’m leveling a 6th char to level 50 because I got nothing else to do and because I try to find a class I can enjoy, sadly my warrior can’t go to many places in his wheel chair, can’t farm in most of the places, can’t PvP even with rank7 gear because he gets melted like a clothie and list could go on.
Spent most of today doing duels and having a laugh at how horrible PvP is, my rogue buddy was testing his damage on my warrior with and without shield on and I was getting 1,200 crits with whatever this damage reduction is supposed to be + 5k armor while having shield on, then he was dueling a feral druid in bear and barely critting 200-300 on him while he had 5.4k armor in bear form.
Tested multiple melees and funny thing is I knew game is really broken, but did not expect it to be this broken.
oh no … ppl hit their goals, and are taking a break, playing other games, trying out cata and new retail season … oh no wow is dying, SoD is dying … jesus this was here 1000 times already … look around, think, then post … give it a month, release p4 and ppl will be back, as always …
I’m not so sure many will for P4 tbh. Yes there will be a sharp rise for a few days or so on release but nothing like the start of P2 & P3. Cata has already - and will continue to take a large preportion of those that have dropped SoD, and I’m not surpised in the slightest.
PvP and how broken some classes are have most likely made that decision very easy - it has for me at least.
Ask yourself this, if you are a keen PvP’er and have to pick SoD or Cata - there really is no comparison. Cata’s PvP is one of the few expansions where it was almost balanced. SoD is just one big massive Sh1tshow unless you play Shaman or Priest (and maybe MM hunter)
Just my opinion - and i’ll be more than happy to admit I was wrong but I think SoD peaked P1 and is rapidly becoming a total and utter joke.
In what stance are you in? If you sit in glad stance with shield the shield is useless. Glad stance reduces armor to mail levels.
If im in def stance with shield rogues have very hard time killing me, the only downside is that i dont do any damage back and he will wear me down eventually unless i get alot of sslam procs and crits
Sounds like this is another timeless lesson: don’t roll on meme-realms. Meaning, any realm other than the designated “big realm(s)” such as Living Flame.
Should have seen this coming… you could’ve chosen different, …you didn’t, you wouldn’t, and now you’re paying the darn price Khazragore
In battle and defensive stances, I do not use glad stance at all as I use Enraged Regeneration on boots instead. But we did multiple tests with different classes, and for example I would hit the rogue for 100-200 on his 1700ish armor while a furry warrior was doing 400ish crits on him. Even funnier was that the fury warrior was doing 70 dmg on me while I had shield on.
Which ability does those crits? Im not exactly sure about mutilate, but im pretty sure envenom counts as poison damage therefore bypass armor.
So SOD is dying
with each phase less and less people are playing
Little to no confidence in the classic team delivering anything of worth in future phases
Never mind least we are getting 40 man raids
Sweet

Mutilate mainly, envenom is indeed not considered as physical attack. Mutilate on the other hand is, and is based on weapon damage https://www.wowhead.com/classic/spell=399960/mutilate
Envenom falls under Nature school of magic I guess https://www.wowhead.com/classic/spell=399963/envenom
40mans don’t fit to SoDail ideology
