As recent posts have mentioned, the timeline for me has been:
- Account open for 8 days and AH, mail, trade working fine
- Try to use AH and get generic message “This action is restricted” – no detail as to why
- Raise message with Blizzard support who tell me to log out for “12 hours but up to a full day”
- Radio silence for another 2 days
- I find a forum post from devs who say this is a new intentional restriction and impacts all accounts – initially says it’s just for SoD, despite many users reporting issues on Era and Hardcore
- 7 days have passed now and the only response is to wait another 15 days until my account reaches 30 days of activity.
How is this fair? In the 15 days now since my account opened I have reached 50 and have a ton of things I cannot do such as:
- Get 2 runes: (I cannot buy mining and engineering materials to complete them)
- Salvaging the Schematic quest for Gnomeregan head piece – (again, can’t get materials from professions I don’t have – Mithril Bar) even if I could do this, I cannot buy materials to craft it anyway
- Buy consumables and items I need to try ST
- Levelling my profession (Tailoring) is nearly impossible because I need to manually collect every type of cloth etc to do it
It’s also massively awkward and embarrasing to explain to people (especially my new guild) why you can’t trade them. I can’t even give people a health stone, so they just think I am either really dodgy or know I am a noob. People have even said I must be restricted for being abusive or something.
It seems crazy that my account was once functioning fine but then silently restricted for a long time, before the reason was eventually explained.
Is there at least a method to get accounts checked manually to unlock legit players who are blocked now? If I can get a GM to look into my account/activity, or prove some other way I am not engaged in RMT/botting/whatever else it is this is supposed to fix, that would be great.
