Sod time wasting things ++ how to improve the game in the future

At first I intended this topic to be a little shorter, but in the end I will touch on several things, i’m interested in other people’s opinions, I tried to list reasonable, not completely game changing things.
Before anyone starts whining to me about ‘‘CLASSIC EXP’’, come on…if you want a pure VANILLA exp than this game is not for you anyways, go to ERA. We’re not in 2004, the game is faster, I don’t think most people happily wait half an hour because of outdated features. Some completely primitive time wasting mechanics should be removed or fixed. Let me list a few things:

  1. Meeting Stones, they are there in front of the dungeons, just have to activate them, why do we have to beg a warlock all the time if we don’t have one in our team…?
  2. Mail delay, why is it good exactly?
  3. City portal (not the most important thing, but with portals at least the trade chat will not be full with lock summoning services or mage portals (after they got all later))
  4. Dual talents, after all isn’t SOD supposed to be about experimentation? with everyone being tied to one talent, the game doesn’t really give you the freedom to do so.
  5. World Buffs, why do we need them? The content isnt hard, classes are much stronger than in core vanilla, its just another requirement to get into random raids, just remove them.

I don’t think that any of the things I listed would take anything away from the value of the game, but it wouldn’t waste people’s time.

Now let me list couple things i would like to see in SOD later as extra content:

  1. More open world secrets, some kind of treasures wich worth looking for, the world is big lets fill it with content, otherwise everyone will only AFK in cities between two raids.
  2. New endgame raids ofc, but I think we will definitely get this.
  3. Dungeon challanges, maybe some puzzles to solve, anything wich make ppl play not only speedrun.
  4. Arenas, more pvp rewards
  5. Kind of a WANTED systerm, wich marks griefers who camping on low lvls, it would be a good way to create open world PVP battles, and of course also could help for low level players to see where on the map it is worth paying attention.
  6. New zones, there are unused zones on the map.

So far these are the few things that have come to mind, but I will gladly listen to other people’s thoughts as well.

Alredy useless idea coz we have wowhead

As a warlock , you lost me at number 1.

Portals ? Yeah take that away from mages too.
Its like someone hates moving with his character…

But ok ok you have your opinion and have a right for feedback so i stop right here.
Plus arenas idea - you got me there.

Summoning is the only value wich lock can provides for the group? I dont know about that how it works now but can you use your sum inside dungeons? If not let locks use it anywhere, so the +value is still yours. But you think its fair when no lock in the group, forexample you trying to run couple SM runs, with alliance someone leaving but the other 4 want to do more, u find the last ppl but he is in SW, so no summon avilabe and 4 ppl have to wait for more than 20minutes, just think about it.
Mage portal will always be superior, they can use it everywhere, but i mentioned already ‘’ not the most impotrtant thing’'.

Than make some random factor to it. Be available from time to time, for example like GW2 events, they have a timer but are varied and fill the world with life.
Ofc this is just an idea, but even if there is wowhead, the more content there is in the world, the more reasons people have to leave the cities.

What kinda zones are unused btw. I agree with WB and mail.

This is my topic about it.

Look around on the map, there are some empty places near elwynn forest, or they could make some islands, like turtle wow did. Mount hyjal before cataclysm state. There was talk of cut content that was not published in the end, etc.
I didn’t read the comments under your topic, but I think a lot of people criticized the pvp part, im not one of them xD i want pvp.

Or you can just get there without needing a summon, some dungeons are more annoying to the to for sure but its never that bad.

Makes the world smaller, you dont need to get from point a to be within seconds.

I see both a good side and a bad side to it, it takes away from you being a tank or a dps or healer but it lets people experiment more.

They are a fun reward, you never have needed them and their power level at this point is rather low.

Because it makes the game more fun.

SoM was so boring without em.

World buffs also makes the entire server work together, Gathering in org back in 2019 every raid day for the 18:45 Dragonslayer drop was amazing, SO MUCH people in org and then the ZG buff in STV, so many people on their mounts running to the island.

Not to mention the hunters clearing DM and then forming lines outside just so people could get their Dire maul buffs.

World buffs make the server and community more alive.

Also ofc the fact that fire mage was incredibly more enjoyable when getting like +12 crit% from the buffs.

How game goes. I level, find runes, run dungeons ,level professions, make gold, have fun.

The level cap comes, I stop having fun because all I do is wait and wait and wait.

In fact. 90 % of my playtime is waiting at end game.

You have to afk a lot if there is no content to do or worth to do. Many ppl saying than go lvlup another character, but what if i dont want to play with multiple character just one or two.
I’m afraid that there won’t be anything to do at 60, the classes have become stronger, we will run through the 60s raids laughing, dungeons lose their values so no one really care about them.
For me wotlk was the best, becasue of the achievements, sadly they completly ruined it for me on classic lk. I like the bonus features but the server pop ratios just ****s, im not willing to pay for servers like wrath classic wich looks dead. I dont care how many ppl afking in dala and flexing with logs but when i cant meet a single soul open world its dead. Interesting that on warmane there are ppl everywhere, horde and alliance too not just single factions.

talents not so important in sod, i think runes are more important… and you can experiment with them and change when you want.

World buffs, at least at lvl 60 iteration, create a lot of pvp content going back to classic 2019-2021, and it is not “artificial” pvp to get some kind of currency (as pvp event in stv for example), it is pvp when players doing it just for fun. So i think world buffs should exist, they really create a lot of fun content and prevents people of just raid logging. Also i think that chronoboon displacers should be nerfed to be usable only in cities or inns, so they continue doing their main goal (allow people to collect buffs and continue playing game without logging out waiting for raid), but will create a lot more pvp at raid entrance. World buffs are really “spirit” of modern classic and i dont think that they should be removed.
