Hi, is there any information (or even confirmation) about SoD going into TBC - for instance via character transfer?
I do not want to play Vanilla Classic basically as a waiting room for TBC. SoD is truly a nice experience and I enjoy playing it.
It would be great, if SoD-toons could be stripped off their special stuff - as soon as the Classic server are about to move into TBC - and head into TBC as well.
99% it wont happen. Probably hard to pull it off.
But it would also destroy tbc economy since its way esasier to get gold here than era serversâşď¸
Well, then stay and play SoD. They already confirmed that chars remain and will not be deleted.
Dude⌠these kind of comments are partly the reason, I hate engaging in this forum.
I asked a very specific question and I do not want to commit to SoD, if it leads to nothing.
I want to play Vanilla TBC, however I am forced to at least level a toon in Vanilla Classic apparently.
If I knew, SoD will go into TBC, I would commit to SoD (and skip Vanilla Classic, because redundancy). SoD feels very refreshing in comparison to Classic Vanilla.
If SoD wonât go into Classic TBC at any rate, playing (and commiting to) it, would feel pointless.
And Era, Classic Fresh and TBC leads to what?
We all know that every version will end in stagnation.
SoD is a testbed for classic+ itâs literally PTR for a future classic version.
So what is your point?
If we can move on with the characters⌠To be clear: I simply want to âskipâ Classic Vanilla and I like the iteration SoD delivers. I feel being forced playing Vanilla Classic in order to get what I actually want to play (TBC).
" Many players want to know more about the future for your Season of Discovery characters, and we want to repeat what weâve said in the past:
We have no plans to delete Season of Discovery characters or to shut down the SoD realms. We plan to continue supporting them, and weâre hard at work on everything else thatâs coming ⌠Soonâ˘."
Do you understand that your thread makes no sense after this blue post?
What exactly am I supposed to do on my character that will be in full Naxx gear, rank 14, all mounts and toys collected?
RPGs are not meant to be frozen in time. The whole point of RPGs is constant gradual character progression. It has to be either TBC or classic + or Cata. The devs promiced we would be able to continue developing our characters after the season ends. I would not have started playing it if I hadnât known for sure our characters would not be stuck on a dead frozen realm.
Exactly this.
It is so tiresome âdiscussingâ with latently toxic ppl like pacalis who always try to outsmart one although there is literally nothing to outsmart and no reason to be sassy.
I thought there was maybe some more information around and tbh I think blizzard really owes its players transparency. Commiting not only means the monthly sub which is actually no problem for me, but more so the time I spend. If you get older, time becomes so precious and I feel at time disgusted by Blizzardâs lack of respect for its dedicated playerbase. Man, they should actually feel honored to have this community which is so loyal to them.
The economy issue is actually a good point.
Correct me if I remember this wrong: Didnât classic server have a gold cap for character transfers?
Nonetheless, I would argue you are right here. It would be very hard to adjust the amount of gold floating around. Havenât thought of that.
I hope they use SoD for testing things for a possible upcoming Classic+.
All the dungeons and raid that is coming in later expantions and are in the old lands.
Itâs not going to happen.
You would have to change half of the runes because theyâll become talents or just book spells, so you would just have less runes than other classes or classes will get brand new runes whilst you have less. Itâll cause jealousy.
Shoulder runes, Main hand runes, Trinket runes itâs same old same old at some point. What new would they add? It wonât be a new idea because those go to retail.
What did people complain about TBC apart from the rep grind? Quests. For a TBC SOD i feel like they would have to rehaul a lot of the zones and improve that. A lot of the social issues that were in TBC are already fixed.
Itâs a big ask and just not plausable so lets look at things that werenât added to TBC. Ashbringer questline? You could do a lot with this idea but a legendary questline would lead to the same thing that happened with class quests.
On the top of my head I canât think of any dungeons/raids that they didnât have time to make in TBC. They could make original dungeons but I canât see them doing a âLevel 65 raidâ or a âLevel 60 raidâ in TBCâs zones.
Itâd take a whole development cycle what they just didnât have this year as you could tell they were actively developing phases. Like even if they released pre-patch you would have to take out so many WB spawn locations, youâd have to re-balance every rune and armour set.
All in all it takes too much time, and as long the PR team controls release schedules you wonât get what you want.
