It’s sad to see SoD has come to an end, it revived my interest in a game I stopped playing about a decade ago.
There’s been a lot of discussion about what comes next etc… my solution is simple
How about just one single legacy server - with an NPC that allows you to toggle between pvp/pve (much like “war mode” in retail).
It’s a small sub-population of the game, many of which returned to wow specifically for sod, so the existence of this legacy server wouldn’t threaten any other versions of the game.

Nobody likes “toggle”, this is retail trash and part of the reason many of us will never ever play retail ever again.
If you want to “toggle” PvP, play on a PvE realm

Toggle is lame, however for the sake of preserving sod legacy and an active/populated server - one “legacy server” with a toggle ability for pve/pvp (much like the blood moon emissary)
I mean how would that make people play more.
Honestly they could do that, but i dont think that would do much.
You can LITERALLY toggle PvP on a PvE server. How do people STILL not know this? lol
SoD servers aren’t going anywhere.

Honestly I’m also curious. Each expansion on classic we have a decently vocal group asking to make an Era server for said expansion (even TBC Anniversary made people want it to become TBC Era server eventually) but now that SoD arguably the least compatible version receives it it’s treated as a doom sentence and begging for proper transfers out. Makes no sense to me. Especially since SoD “Era” is the only place our characters can be themselves. Vurmal can only be Vurmal on SoD because there are no tank Shamans elsewhere.

Because I have never played on care bear PvE servers, and I was trying to come up with a suggestion that would allow both pvp and PvE to Co exist, so they don’t get stun locked and two shotted while moving with arrow keys and mouse clicking abilities!
And yes ideally sod should have its own legacy server.
i think what the guy means is… Merge all the pvp and pve servers, to keep a steady population… and just add warmode, for the pvpers to pvp and the pve’ers to still be on the server
I do think there’ll be a server merge down the line, no way they keep all these servers up forever. I just hope they’ll leave us one or two rather than shutting them all down to funnel us to Classic+.

I think all the PvE carebears should be forced to world pvp tbh the game is too heavily instance based as it is… But willing to forgo this for the sake of game longevity.
World PVP isn’t honorable combat where two people fight over resources, it’s where one side actively stops the other side from playing the game; it’s why all PVP servers in Classic became mono-faction.
Every time Blizzard have tried to encourage or enable World PVP, the players have ruined or abandoned it. World PVP is a pipe-dream and it’s time you numpties accepted that.
Yea i started Sod on Lone Wolf, PVP was epic fun in P1, cuz it was just out and about in the world, Theres a HORDE! get him!
then we entered lv60 BR Mountain evens, and 40 man raid teams camping Dungeon entrances catching people as they come out… that isnt World PVP is just “Efficient Honor Farming”

World pvp worked pretty good on golemagg vanilla classic actually, so don’t call others numpties when you have zero info on the workings of world pvp…

I have plenty of ‘info’ on the workings of world pvp, I have plenty of experience and I’ve read the experience of others, I’ve been playing this game for nearly 20 years now; that’s probably almost your entire life.
World PVP is good on paper and poor in practise.
