Soft Foam Sword

…appears to have been broken as a side effect of the level squish making some quests impossible to do if you’re over level.

Anyone else having issues with this and any suggestions as to how to work around it.

Getting naked and rez sickness still makes my char too powerful to weaken the mobs without killing them.

All I can think of is to multi box with a lower level alt, but that seems to be an awful lot of work to set up for only a handful of quests.

You could try enabling chromie mode.

You can’t do that at level 50.

This is true and I’m not sure if you can dip in and out of Chromie time just to do one quest

’ The Soft Foam Sword is useable on NPCs that are a trivial difficulty to your character. This means that it can only be used if the character is at least 20 levels higher than the NPC you’re targeting.

The sword has a couple of other limitations: it cannot be used in dungeon or raid instances and cannot be used on rare elite creatures.’

It could be that the level squish has made the 20 level higher thing more difficult

/edit I should’ve said that the 2 quoted paras are from the Support site.

The level squish should have made that 20 levels higher into 10 levels higher.

Lets hope it gets fixed along with all the other bugs still here after the last hotfix.

today week, I played in vanilla zone as I missed do quests from checked addon.

I used “soft foam sword” with as 50lvl. I hit mod, it still fine.

Just yell at the mobs that you don’t want a committed relationship, that’ll get them down a bit.

Looks like they’re aware of this already, hopefully getting a fix soon.

Oh it was bugged?
But yeah sometimes this toy a bit killed mod. Happened me

Thank you for that Chronormi, looks like one of my alts will be put on hold for a little while.

The only mobs I’ve never got the sword to work on pre the squish are the Jomunger worms in northern Dragonblight.

The Soft Foam Sword requiring a 20 levels difference have been unpractical for my two lvl 35-alts doing the Lunk-quests in Searing Gorge while working up Thorium Brotherhood rep for transmog recipes. Although SG is not that far from Stormwind, it is still damn unpractical to go to SW just to enable and then disable Chromie time just for these two quests for each alt.

You could try using the flamethrower trinket until Blizzard solves the issue.
