SoftRes, what it means, ninja really?

  • Best to state softres last because you then see what all others have softressed (and can softres to the largest probability).
  • If you kick someone for conjured reasons you avoid their soft-res competition on later bosses/loots. (Conjuring reasons is not so hard in pugs.)
  • noone really maps out the soft-resses, and rl/discord-controller can change soft-resses at will (when a soft-res item didnt drop, he changes to new sr-item, or he changes sr on a friend-player in raid).
  • leavers (and new ppl entering raid) changes the sr-situation.

It looks to me that SR really doesnt work and is just another ninja-tool for those cynical enough to do it ?

Then don’t join SR runs.

Sr is not ninja at all since normally every raid member gets equal amount of SR, do you HR aka hard res, usually the leader has this if he wants some item, however it’s not ninjaing either as long as they let other raid members know about it beforehand.

sounds like you joined a bad raid, all SR raids i’ve been on have had no loot drama.

As in real life, you sometimes get screwed over. You learn from it and move on. SR isn’t bad. But some people will go to great lengths to exploit every possible thing they can to get what they want. Personally there have been a few runs where the “semi-guild” part of a pug buddy rolled for items. And I do not like it, nor would I myself be able to do it with a clear conscience. But having pug raided on 2 chars for some time now and this only happened in 2-3 raids so far. I’d say it is manageable.

A significant part of the player base doesnt necessarily understand that they get ninja’ed when it happens/happened. So you saying what you say doesnt make me believe a 100 percent that no ninja’ing happened in your raids.

I love SR, when I am in pug I always check what people from my class want to SR, I put my SR on it too, and when I win I sell it to them … best loot system ever

You can’t ninja if the agreement is made out of the game. Raid Rules have to be stated ingame.

As long as that site has punishments for those who just take stuff then it would be a site to use, that’s if everyone in the raid is using it.

Ofc they can ninja “when the agreement is made out of the game”. Dont you know what the nature of ninja is ?
And no site “has punishments”, not even Blizzards sites (regarding ninja’ing).

Its like speaking with ppl that dont know the first thing (about wow).

I do, do you? It’s breaking the looting rules made ingame. Notice that word, INGAME.

Then it has no point if people can just do what they like and get away with it. Blizzard do take items off people who have ninja’d, but the rules have to be made clearly ingame.

Looking at some of the very basic questions you have posted it looks like you are describing yourself. Edit: The one about not knowing what dailies are was a good one. Especially considering the age of your account.

Just use the lootreserve addon.

I personally won’t join a run without SR through the lootreserve addon.

Hate to break it to you OP. But no matter what system you looking for there is ALWAYS ways to exploit it.

SR works fine 99% of the cases.
Need/Greed roll multiple people press need and trade it to their friend.
DKP can be abused or set up to benefit the ones in charge better.
GDKP can also be abused.
Loot council can be mismanaged.
Even personal loot can be exploited with trading items as long as you had a item of atleast same itemlevel.

So by your definition, everything is ninja.

What a nonsense post full of excuses for being bad lol.

MS>OS system with master loot is not.

This isn’t completely true. Softres.it webpage tracks changes with time stamps, so if you change your SR (or SR of other people if you are SR administrator) it will remove your old SR and post a new one with new time. You can easily see if the last SR has been made 1-hour after raid started and SR got locked.

SR scams are rare. Happened to me once, and that was during TBCC but we managed to catch the scammer thanks to above mentioned time stamps.

Should add solo raiding, so 25 grown-up men in their 40s don’t need to pretend that they like each other to get their 20 year old pixels.

The idea of MMO RPG in the sense of the 2000s is outdated anyway and doesn’t exist anymore.

Back then internet play itself was so exciting that you didn’t really care, today it’s just another SP game with useful idiots to most people.

The amount of people in Classic who will just drop you once you outlived your usefulness is scary. Example: you were a healer same level as they, but then they outleveled you during a downtime and insta-removed you from friends.

Great job OP. You finally made a stupid enough argument for me to agree with Dottie (Sorry for your loss on losing the account with a gazillion posts).

You should maybe find yourself a guild if you think SR = ninja looting. Or possibly make your own pugs. Joining a pug with MS>OS is a recipe for disaster where one guy could potentially win ALL the items.

Usually SR runs still allow MS>OS and this far into Phase 1 it’s not uncommon for majority of that stuff to go to whoever’s least geared.

So your solution to RL having questionable integrity in a potentially abusive system is to give them more power? Genius!

I haven’t lost it, I don’t play retail anymore so I’m posting with my Classic Wrath Dottie for now.
