Solar Orb, Ashran

Intention: The Solar Orb is meant to be a flavourful addition to the BG.

Reality: One side gets the Solar Orb, then pushed the other back beyond that point and sits on a massive power boost.

The intention and the reality never match up so just remove it, it makes an already boring BG even more boring.

Then a few of your side go and get themselves the orb? Most people grab it and don’t guard it or only have 1 or 2 players there.

How did you arrive at the conclusion that permanent almost-bloodlust is just a flavourful addition, and not a win condition?

Literally impossible due to the massive impact of ilvls- All they need is a few guards of superior ilvl guarding it. Due to the higher stats they get more benefit asthe scaling given by the Solar Orb is exponential in nature. And then the “few” needs to be a lot to have any hope of success.

Because if it was a win condition it would never have been added. No other BG has an intentional “I win” button. The Solar Orb is. The side that has it has fun. The opposing side less so as they’re being farmed.

Only truly malicious things can be done with good intentions, And the Orb is clearly one such. The result is a bit different as having it spas the fun from the other side as they can only get overwhelmed.

Won more than a couple without it and saw my brother doing so as well. Yes, with opposing side controlling it. But yeah imo it would be better go make ashran actual grand combat 30 v 30. No side objectives, nothing. I am deadly serious. Think alot of people here will agree with me that simple and brutal 30v30 bashing is hell of a fun.

Then you won in spite of having it. This means that the average ilvl of your team was excessively higher than the one of the opposition, and they were really bad at PvP, which is sadly quite common since a lot of PvE players that have no place in PvP do it anyway because the gear is a lot easier to get than PvE.

I really want to believe that we were just more persistent. But your explanation might be more plausible.
