Soldiers spotlight/ minor characters

Especially this two are technically really big lore characters and they are totally ignored.

Since when is Draka interesting? I’d take a freakin gnome over her any day.

She is more interesting by virtue of having a backstory.

Also they already said they always intended Zekhan to have a major role in the expansion. Anyone who believes they wrote a character arc for him after that one cinematic is delusional.

What’s wrong with Draka? She have a fitting backstory and is literally made for Maldraxxus.

You argue for the sake of argument. You wanna talk about Backstory? Half of the characters I wrote have more backstory than Draka+her Au timeline combined, you dont know what you are talking about

Here i would disagree most of the Characters you advocate for debuted in only one Book.
Draka on the other Hand appears in more pieces of Warcraft Media and additionaly she has a Au Counterpart and a Movie Counterpart that maybe newer players are a lot more familiar with.
By no means I think other characters do not deserve attention aswell but in terms of recognition Draka surpasses everyone of the People you mentioned. I would make an exception for Tyrathan Khort since he might have a role to play in the upcoming Vol’jin story. But everyone who did not read the book does not know him at all.

True about the books, however she is mainly only mentioned, her biggest achievement is being Thralls mother and Durotans wife. Also…what makes her more fitting to be in Maldraxxus than any other orc?

  • And how do I reply to different posts at the same time…? I did it b4 but I dont remember how

Being Thralls mother who is now again part of the Horde so you have some sort of connection. I do agree people like Grom, Khargath or so could probably take her role but as of now we don´t know her involvment in the Maldrax story so there could very well be a reason why they want Draka and not some other Orc. For example when Thrall also plays a role in SL.

Being Thralls mother might be her achievment by pure luck but being the mother of THE prominent figure in the Horde we now play elevates her above others.

It does when it shouldn’t, she didnt raise him herself or anything. She shouldnt take credit for his upbringing, or his character or his skills either. Also, why her and not Durotar? He was a good chieftain and with much richer lore + achievements/skills behind him. - But anyhow! This is not why I made this post, let’s not deviate from the topic

I assume they wanted a female warrior in the mix and couldn’t really think of a more prominent one. Which might be because there wasn’t exactly a prominent multitude of them.

“Argue for the sake of argument” might be the most pointless thing I have read all day.

Doubt that most people you wrote had more backstory than both Drakas combined. Like, really doubt.

You may doubt as much as you want pointless Bob. If we are taking in a sense of more ink on the paper, then yes. Most of em have more lines and actions than she ever had in both of her reincarnations. Despite our personal tastes however this is not the point of the topic. Stop deviating from the matter and try to pretend that you are mature.

LOL, having more lines than someone in the game doesn’t make them more important characters. A random farmer could have more line than Sargeras, it doesn’t mean anything.

Sorry if I don’t agree with your idea that random NPCs should get the spotlight for no reason, but that doesn’t make me immature.

Exactly, having more actions does. And do remind me…what did Draka do again? Oh thats right, nothing. Also they are not random npcs, almost all of them have been in a novel, comic or manga and played a serious role as well.

Okay, Hogger did more stuff in WoW than Sargeras, so I guess Hogger is more important to the Warcraft franchise than Sargeras.

“What did Draka do again”? Seriously? Have you even played WoD?

Also I thought you wanted the random joe with no relevance to the story to get more screentime, instead of important people already featured in novels, comics, or manga?

What should matter is emotional connection to the player. That’s neither number of lines, nor length of background story. You can’t make a character interesting by giving them more background. But you can make them more interesting by making us experience their background and sympathizing with their personal history. The number of lines doesn’t necessarily make a connection either, but it is quite hard to make one without the necessary dialogue that we can experience.

Draka is a clear “show, don’t tell” problem. We know of her background, but we experienced none of it with her. So many will totally lack any connection to her. There might well be normal quest givers whose lines endeared them much more to the player.

Are we talking about WoD Draka, though?

He brought in both Drakas so yes.

Well, that’s a step I wouldn’t be willing to make. If Draka is there that would mean every character from every dimension should be there, and that’s so bad I wouldn’t assume it without Blizz telling it to me directly.

You might be surprised but there is lore outside the game, and im much more interested in the books. Sargeras has many ‘achievements’ so to speak and actions. And as for Hogger, damn right i’d like to read his story over Drakas. I wont reply to anymore Draka stuff anymore, if you wanna say something relevant then go ahead. But if not i’d rather if you made another topic for it.

Then why tf are you claiming Draka is not important to the story just because she’s dead by the time WoW starts? You are literally contradicting yourself.

I just made you contradict your original statement. Plenty of times. Because every single person you mentioned on that list is not a random soldier, and then you proceeded to say you want to know more about people who already had serious roles in novels, comics, etc., thus contradicting your claim that you want the average random joe to have the spotlight for once.
