Right so I was falling asleep last night thinking about WoW.
We’ve got so many quality of life features now, follower dungeons, delves, mog loot unlocking via all classes etc.
So, why do we not have the following.
Solo queue for all legacy dungeons and raids?
Since it’s mostly for loot farming it would cut down on all the travel and resetting etc.
Queue for any old dungeon or raid. Instant pops, you jump in instantly, farm your mog gear, port out, rinse and repeat.
All dungeons and raid would be listed in release order, with a toggle for HC or Mythic mode, and a check box to see that you’d completed it that day/week.
I’m sure it wouldn’t be the hardest thing to implement in the world and would negate the menial task of flying around all old legacy content to do a dungeon that will only take you 5 minutes to complete.
The stipulation to the finder would be that you have to be +9 levels above the legacy content you’d wish to farm.
CONVENIENCE!? That is a foreign word to Blizz… they’d have to lug an old dictionary used to prop open a window from across the office to just look it up, to discover the page was ripped out.
There’ll have to be a trade off, convenience for an inconvenience elsewhere.
I could see it happening that they add more dungeons you can use followers. But wouldnt it be much harder in raids when its far more important tactics get done or certain positioning
Its easier to replace 4 people with npcs than having to replace 39 people with npcs and it still functioning properly
Will it definitely sounda convenient it would kill the open world even more wich is still bad. Now out of chromie time you see the occasional player dragonriding to show its atleast somewhat of an mmorpg. Sometimes convenience isnt worth the things it takes down, but i fully understand why people would want it
may i ask why we shouldn’t have to? going to the locations for old dungeons and raids is for some people part of what makes it fun(and yes they could still do that) but in the end transmog and old content by now is meant as a way to waste time once you did all the weekly stuff. usually while you travel you can also do some chores in the house by taking a flight path over there
Wouldn’t it be better to deterministically farm our mogs, mounts and pets from old content than try to find solutions to reduce “idle” time while still maintaining a hostile RNG system?
I would much rather prefer every boss in legacy content to drop a Quantum thingie item that with 100% chance unlocks a not-yet-unlocked appearance, pet, mount, collectible etc., than just let me roll the dice again with shorter intervals.
That would make too much sense for Blizzard to think about implementing, plus, they want you in the game as much as possible. Making you travel is one way to achieve that.
As someone who does legacy content often, I enjoy the travelling. Bumping into a rare spawn or remembering/or never noticing something on your way over is part of the fun for me.
