Right now, Arena has a major problem—long queue times, difficulty finding partners, and wasted time sitting in LFG instead of actually playing.
Would things work better if it was structured like this?
Current System
- Shuffle – (Solo Queue only)
- 2v2 – (Premade teams only)
- 3v3 – (Premade teams only)
Proposed System
- Shuffle – Queue solo OR duo
- 2v2 – Queue solo OR duo
- 3v3 – Queue solo OR duo OR trio
Why Would This Work?
Nothing Gets Removed or Changed – Existing players can still queue as full premades.
Shorter Queue Times? – Healers might be more encouraged to queue with a teammate or friend, which could lead to faster queues for everyone.
No Impact on Competitive Integrity – Arena is already based on personal ratings, not team ratings. This keeps the competitive nature intact.
More Accessibility = A Stronger PvP Scene – Too many players quit PvP because they can’t find teammates or don’t want to waste time in LFG. This system would make it easier to jump in and play extra games.
Better for Small Groups – If you have one close friend who wants to do 3v3 but can’t find a third teammate, you could still queue and play.
This system would benefit everyone—less time waiting, more time playing. And of course, LFG would still be available for those who want a full team experience.
Tournament Mode – Player-Run & Official Tournaments
Blizzard has dabbled in PvP tournaments, but why not bring them directly into the game with a dedicated Tournament Tab?
What It Would Include:
Player-Run Tournaments – Players could create their own tournaments with custom rules & invite friends or guildmates.
Official Blizzard Tournaments – Weekly or monthly tournaments with in-game rewards.
Skill-Based Tournament Brackets – Tournaments would be locked by rating, so if you’re fed up with getting crushed by 3k-rated players, you could compete against players at your own level.
Fun Part!
Pay-to-Enter Tournaments – A cash prize pool option, where players pay a small entry fee, and winners receive a cut of the prize pool. This could be done with WoW gold, crypto, or other rewards.
Would This Be a Game-Changer?
A New Competitive Layer – PvP would finally have more stakes beyond just rating.
Community-Driven Events – Allow guilds & PvP groups to organize their own tournaments. Great for streamers to host their own events!
More Incentive to Play PvP – If cash or unique rewards were on the line, wouldn’t more players stick with PvP?
Esports Potential Without the Hassle – Blizzard could automate tournament hosting instead of relying on third-party sites.
