Currently on 2hrs, as it seems it stacks on account, not per character.
There’s too many queueing for solo that do not know how to play. Healers queuing as heal, then parking themselves on a flag the entire game and doing nothing. Folks going afk on corners of the maps. Healers running around spamming smite and moonfire and not healing the team. Among other sins.
Players should not be forced to participate in bad games with bad players. When you queue solo, you have absolutely no control over who you get teamed with and before any shills start carping about, “FiNd a TeAm ThEn HuRp-DeRp!” this is why solo exists in the first place.
I don’t mind eating a deserter debuff, but 2hrs is excessive and as of this point, I have simply stopped bothering.
Your experience doesn’t reflect mine tbh. Playing a healer between 2.2-2.4 mmr, people are actually sweating. I don’t know what the deserter debuff time is, but if you’re saying it’s 2 hours I wouldn’t mind to double it every time for repeated offenses.
Healers usually only stay at a Flag when all the DPS run away and abandon them on the Spot. Judging by your tone you must be one of those Farm/Stable zergers. I saved plenty of Games by staying at a Flag after all DPS ran off to zerg on some random path far away from any Point.
Healers “running around and spamming Smite”. Yes, that is what discipline Priests do to Heal. Just as Paladins “Run around and spam Crusader Strikes/Judgement”
no, the deserter is a good choice, it will eventually take care of those damn leavers… now for the skill of the individuals, the more we climb the more this goes away
but i agree… the level of low mmr is WORSE than actual normal bg…
today ive seen people, geared with pve, sitting afk in the starting area of my placement matches after i switched speck (since fire is completely butchered)
even tho i somehow closed with a 70% winratio on arcane, after 20 games, 2 of which were even draw and im assuming they count as loses (wish they counted as HALF lose, since well, we manage to not actually lose… but we did apparently eh)
im at 24 games and the mmr is not going up…
with my firemage i had some more luck and i closed with 90% winratio, getting me in that 2.4mmr were game were actually engaging fun and w/e i lost i could tell i just played bad
now im back at the 1.5 Sheetshow where everyone is literally just sitting there afk… some bgs im alone on lumbermill vs 5, and somehow they cap gm farm and stables too, leaves me wondering wtf is everyone even doing… the games i lost were really frustrating, even tho they were less than 30% of the games, but i understand the feeling of wanting to rip of the skin of my face and throw my pc out of the window
that being said, no, they shouldn’t make the punishment for leaving any ligther than that.
thank god they came up with an actual punishment.
Yes, there are many players at low CR/MRR who has no idea whats going on. But it’s true for the enemy team too.
I played ~5000 random bg and at least ~500 blitz/solo bg, yet i can count on one hand how many times i rage quit games. When you leave a game, you just make it worse for the rest of the team.
Actually you can save games, even alone. Especially on maps like EotS (the map which is the least known by players)
The 2hr account wide desert is seems fair. I would also put a 10 min desert when you miss the queue pop (it’s really annoying to press “Enter battle” 8 times in a row).
The -300 CR (I am not sure how much it’s exactly, just read somewhere) is too much IMHO considering it’s at least 15 win in a row to get back that rating. Things can happen IRL sometimes (network problems, family, etc)
okay, but, can we make the accept button last longer… like my god, sometimes u press accept 20 times and someone keeps declining, and u r like, okay i grab a bottle of water, and u miss it…
Think it would need to be done incrementally, to protect those people who are genuinely just disconnected or had some kind of emergency that meant they had to leave. Those people generally won’t decline over and over, those who do should start seeing longer deserter buffs the more they decline.
The moment you say, “I shouldn’t be forced to participate because it’s solo,” you’re echoing what everyone else is thinking. Remember, everyone enters solo, and we’re all in the same boat.
As your MMR rises, so does the quality of the matches. Sure, bad groups exist everywhere, but it’s up to you how you handle it. You can choose to be frustrated and lose, or you can have fun, play your best, and see where it takes you.
Even if the outcome is a loss, why spend the match angry? Try to enjoy the experience, do what you can, and then move on to the next battleground. After all, it’s about the journey, not just the result.
I have about 2k mmr on my Healer and get thrown into 1.5k mmr matches. If i lose i bleed points like a butchered Pig and when i win… my Rating does not Change. Yes i don’t get Rating for winning as a healer.
This system is flawed like crazy. If they don’t have enough healers to fill the spots in the designated MMR at least don’t make high MMR Healers lose points for a loss if you put them in a MMR far below their own.
Its not punishing enough. There is no reason whatsoever to quite a game. Give it your best no matter what. They are fast paced anyway if its going that badly it will be over soon.
I dunno man if you have left that many games on your account to the point where you have a 2hour deserter buff you should get suspended for 2-3days imo. Leaving games just becasue you lose defeats the purpose of games imo. You cannot win everything bro and even on losing teams you can still have fun if you play smart
