Solo Shuffle as a casual player

So here is my opinion about solo shuffle as a casual wow player. I have played wow since vanilla and since then I have grown up I’m full-time working in the best case I have 3 days couple hours a day to play wow. So I have to decide what I want to do between m+ raid or pvp. Since I started to play I was always a PVP oriented player, so most of my time I spend in ss. My biggest problem is that I’m stuck after about 1-2 months. My honor is capped, and my conquest is basically useless since I’m stuck in rating so since there is no more option to progress my character I just feel my time more and more useless I spend in queue or in wow in general.
Yesterday I spent 3 hours in ss where I won my first game 4/2 the second game was 3/3 so I gained around 60 rating, I felt good I was really close to achieve the next level on my rating and than I lost a game 2/4 and lost 60 rating. I just felt I wasted these hours for nothing and I seriously considered to just cancel my subscription because what is the point? I understand mmr I understand the system pvp is based on, but I just feel this is a way too old system, which is not working anymore. It forces you, to reroll the actual fotm character or just get stuck with the one you like until you just won’t log in anymore. My gear is complete, I cannot progress anymore, why the heck should I log in?

To play pvp and have fun ? If you dont enjoy playing arena ye then what are you doing queing it ?

Booooooo Blizzard I lost as much as I won and didn’t get rewarded for it wahhhh this game sucks I’m leaving.

Erm. Get good?

If you can’t be bothered to do that, leave?

The reason players gets stuck is because they don’t understand what they are doing wrong and how to correct their errors.

If you want to become better that is what you have to focus on.

Well, if you didn’t learn anything from those games and/or had no fun, then you indeed wasted your time.

This is not an existential question, it’s not really complicated:
Are you having fun? → Play WoW
Are you not having fun? → Don’t play WoW

During SL I took a few breaks breaks from the game, sometimes for multiple months at a time because the expansion got stale and boring. Why force yourself to play the game when you don’t enjoy it and it’s not tied to your income? Makes you just dread it.

Also the MMR system is completely fine. If you go 4-2, then 3-3 and then 2-4, you basically went 9-9, which means you should have gained ~0 rating. Idk what you are asking for. A system that rewards you for winning the same amount of games as you lost, is a bad system. And yes, it’s easier to reroll and push xyz fotm class/spec, but generally you can push everything to MMR cap, except for tanks (which is a good thing), except for brewmaster, which you can play at MMR cap (which is a bad thing).

Pretty cringe point of view, sorry.

PVP is not supposed to be about gear. In fact, Solo Shuffle is literally a format used by other games (Ranked Solo Queue) such as League of Legends,Dota, Smite etc, where you just queue up, everybody starts on an equal playing field with the only difference being the characters, champions, classes etc that they are playing.

PVP is about skill and becoming better. Your rating is related to how good you are (unless you are playing some overpowered spec). It’s also about fun, you get to beat others players to prove you are better ( or the other way around, getting destroyed ).

If you feel the need for gear progression, transition to PvE. PvP is about proving you are better than the other player, and this season this being on an equal playing field where everybody has maxed out gear makes it all the more fair.

In short, get good. If you want to progress in rating, you will need to give some time to improve and practice, otherwise have fun playing at the rating you are at. Which is 1100.

Why is taking so long to join in the arena today about 40 mins for just 1 arena… this is a joke… with millions of players should be every 2 mins not 40 or sometime an hour… Blizzard please fix this some people are playing only arenas Solo and if you spend 5 hours for 5 arenas is very sad.

Yeah, I’ve also noticed that today’s RSS queues are very long.

And the moment you get up from the chair and is on the way to the toilet the queue pops.

Ideally those losses taught you a valuable lesson and your reward is improvement of your skill. :confetti_ball:

Rating will come by itself, focus on squeezing as much skill out of yourself as you can. Even if its your teammate throwing the game, there is always something that could’ve been done better by me to maybe not lose the game and clutch a win.
