Solo Shuffle is the most actively played/accessible bracket to the broader playerbase. As such, it should have either the Gladiator mount (or equivalent, re-named and/or re-skinned) version. could be attached to “Legend”-achievement which is naturally closest to “Gladiator”-achievement. The 3v3 bracket has never been particularly accessible for the masses, but with solo shuffle and ultralow participation it has worsened significantly.
Think the new season 3-mount could quite literally have copied version that goes by the name of “Astral Legend’s Fel Bat” or a slightly varied color-scheme, and everyone (in Solo Shuffle) would profit + see increased healer participation, too.
Now you are going to get the attention of all the snowflakes who play every single 3v3 match with a top tier spec in their optimal composition with the highest competitve advantage against the majority population of pvp specs
to tell you that coordinated 3v3 is harder than solo 3v3
thanks, i will try to defend myself with the 9 glads (net 15~) acquired across the span of the last years. maybe they will let me be, send thoughts and prayers :')
I feel like it would only be fair to introduce such thing AFTER healer mmr is fixed. Currently top 100 has 0 healer, best healer is rank 114, in top 150 are 3 healer.
Unless the leaderboard is 1/3 healer, there should be no changes to rewards that once more benefit dps player over every other specc.
3s atleast makes it mandatory for healer to also get the same rating as the dps
However the gap isnt as wide anymore from best dps to best healer , so maybe its fixing itself already over time. Still if healer are 1/3 of lobbys they should mirror that in the leaderboard
It’s one of the reasons why I like 3v3 infinitely more than shuffle. Shuffle has a way lower bar for winning than 3s do. CC is just a lot more important to execute properly, which is a pretty thick layer of skill requirement to add on top.
The reason why Gladiator is much harder than Legend is because of the low participation, low MMR cap and Game Balance.
Building Team synergy takes time and effort while playing soloshuffle is building your own skills and the ability to adept to your Team in the fly. It’s easier to improve myself to my time schedule instead of managing schedules of 3 ppl with work and families. Soloque modes are booming because the average WoW Player ist pushing 30 and has limited time.
That’s why there are hardly new Gladiators. MGlads have the teams / socials they build over the years already. And If they don’t, they have the advantage on the slim LFG Market that barely exists anymore.
A player that is trying to switch from Shuffle to 3s is confronted with a dead tool AND finding the right comp for his spec.
This becomes even more impossible, when your spec or the specs you wanna play with are not meta.
The question is, why gatekeeping PvP so important to Blizzard and a lot of Players? Adding a Legend/Strategist Recolor Mount doesn’t take away the Prestige from having a glad mount. Glads will get 1-2 Mounts more per season cause they very able to get Legend/Strategist.
the reason why glad is harder is because the 3s is not as inflated as much not just due to participation but due to how blizzard treats mmr there, the ascept of coordinated gameplay is harder than random lobbys in shuffle and 4k bg blitz where getting 2.4 is like getting 1.6 in arena xD + fotm is more prominent there so ppl wait for their class to be op since blizz buffs and nerfs everything 5 times every season+ ppl play when its the easiest that is the last month to get the reward.
Yes there needs to be more reason for people to que PvP, adding Glad mount to shuffle would be a good step.
As someone who can kill awc players in 2s and perma elite when I play shuffle I think we deserve our mounts. 3v3 requires a team and schedule blabla, shuffle is convenient still requires skill and time.
from first hand experience as someone with 9 gladiators, 5 legends (incl 2x r1), 3v3 and shuffle hardly compare. 3v3 centers around peak-performing in an environment of coordinated gameplay, whereas shuffle centers around peak-performing in an environment of chaotic gameplay. both requires individual skill yet - to me - is on par, with the latter being the more modern approach to eSports (e.g. LOL, CS, Valorant all emphasizing solo queue).
Nonetheless, Id like to see individual 3v3, shuffle and blitz mount. same model, different color styles or even identical colors with maybe an emblem or visual queue of its origin + respective names. Since its basically all there, it would really only require the addition of 2 slight gladiator mount variations to encourage people to play any mode of preference. considering the nice look of the astral mount, now would be good time.
I agree, makes no sense to keep pvps end game reward like mount only in one mode if blizz decided have multiple rated modes for end game. Pve has rating in m+ and mount as reward for it, well pvp has rated 2v2, 3v3, rbg, blitz, shuffle and currently only one of them gives seasonal mount for reaching high enough. Put mounts it in all modes like others said.
While I think fixing the broken healer rating system is n1 priority, this is definitely a high prio change as well. If devs dont take the bracket seriously, nobody does. Considering lfg is a dead, outdated system nobody is willing to participate in, solo queue being the favorite activity to do overall, its just logical to put some reasonable rewards and effort into it. And its not like another recolor mount takes more than an hour of work anyway.
And that also maybe payed other player too boost them, I heard Lontar saying on his stream if you pay him gold (500-800k an hour) he will get you too 2.4 in 3s and that he has NEVER failed to reach it regardless of the potato he was playing with
I can confirm doing glad wins actually every single Day we face multi r1/glad boosting people such as square hyoka humongous for the majority of our games.
It’s always good to face better player that’s how you evolve but i mean when they boost with their r1 friend and they play on voice in top of playing a broken comp it’s getting boring at some point.
