because you lost a sh*t ton of games before that so your mmr dropped and you faced low mmr people
Yeah, the MMR, i got 9 points for 6 Wins…

Yes until you improve, the game is trying to find people similar to your skill level.

No, once your mmr is same or higher than your rating, you will be gaining rating again. Rating is pretty much irrelevant, it is here to visually ease MMR jumps. MMR is all that really matters, observe how that changes.
That would cause infinite rating inflation (assuming you actually mean MMR, you are gaining MMR, rating is just kinda catching up to it).
No its because they changed the healers you are matched with. Now they can be 400/500 cr lower so you have to win 5 games; was 2.6 I’m 2.2 now. Even with 2 wins I lost 79points. An other great change by Blizzard.
I get that the system needs a way to judge the performance of players and match them up with similar skill levels.
However, the system still needs a way to visually reward participation.
Let me just make my point by using M+ as an example: In M+ there is no way to loose raiderio. You either complete the dungeon on time and get a bit of Raiderio, or you dont and get 0.
Eventually there reaches a point where an individual just cannot do higher level keys because they lack the skill. And that’s totally OK. Not everyone has to do 25+ keys. Doing 11+ is fine and they will be stuck at 1800 raiderio for the rest of the patch.
Same thing with rating. If you loose, you loose 30 rating. If you tie, you win 0 rating. If you win, you win 30 rating. Eventually, you will win as many matches as you loose. And be stuck at whatever rating is appropriate for your skill.
In SS in particular, because there is a lack of healers and the “0 rating if you tie problem” you give incentives by giving an extra 20 rating. So if you loose, you loose 10 rating. If you tie, you win 20. If you win, you win 50 rating. Eventually there will reach a point where you loose more than you win and you will dance around the rating your skill deserves.
And then MMR does whatever it needs to do behind the scenes to choose the right arena contenders. Done.
It’s so nice, you can drop but you can’t rise if your mmr says so….what an outstanding system…
I was 2050, lost 2 because I got trained so hard. Then won 4 rounds on another shuffle and got 0 points.
What a great game this is.
