Solution to Feral overtuning

The feral buff is clearly too strong - one day after the change, cats shot up all the way from the bottom to assassination rogue level dps. Not to mention, diehard feral mains are upset by having the playstyle changed halfway through the game.
I have a simple solution - just like with ret, make the change into a glyph. FFF still always procs clearcasting, but now the damage caused by next ability is reduced by X%.
Figure out what X% would be for monocat playstyle to be just slightly below perfect bearweave rotation dps. This way weaker players won’t feel pressure to bearweave and more hardcore players can keep their playstyle.

Buffing classes and still no bug fixes to blink or ignite munching. I’m sure other classes have unfixed bugs too.

Ferals did kinda shoot to the moon, their dps buff was way overshot. This is what happens when you start messing with the game. They might as well buff Warrior now too, and then the next group of people will start crying, BM Hunters probably.

Isn’t feral suppouse to be tier S like in original wrath? I mean if not for bugged OoC (not proc via cat abilities) he would’ve been there already without buff

Feral was supposed to be high DPS class. OoC proc was just bugged for most of the expansion.

This change is intended to smooth out Feral DPS gameplay for most players and resolve many of the social and gameplay challenges that were created by the so-called “Bearweaving” combat strategy. In many situations, Bearweaving not only increases the mechanical complexity of the class to a degree far above what was intended in original Wrath of the Lich King it also places a strain on the raid to keep up with the Druid’s added threat generation, with said impact continually increasing as the Druid becomes more adept at optimizing the rotation.

that’s right, but I think there’s value in preserving bearweaving for those who enjoyed it for the past half a year. This would make bearweaving viable still and somewhat rewarding but not mandatory.
if they decide bearweaving should be gone then they should adjust the X% value to slightly above bearweave dps.

As things stand, ICC feral sims 1.5k dps higher than ICC fury warr with shadowmourne.

If I am not mistaken, it did not erase bearweaving. Faerie fire in cat form does not share the CD with the faerie fire in bear form. So people can still bear weave between the forms for two OoC procs.

I’m 90% sure the cd is shared and the top cat parses from yesterday are monocat

Feral was “S-tier” in Ulduar but got nerfed due to being overpowered, they were very strong again by ICC tho, which was the reason for the original nerf to bring them in line and prevent excessive scaling. In the original Ulduar Ferals had the best ST dps in the game, pretty much.

The thing is, a lot of classes had varying performance during WOTLK, Fury Warriors at launch were top 5, in Classic they were bottom. This Feral buff has pushed them to be potentially the best ST class in the game in ICC, which isn’t at all accurate to WOTLK.

The buff was clearly not tested properly and doesn’t align with the stated goals. Ret change made them viable, but they remained low tier. Cats went from low tier all the way to the top tier.

I don’t care if cats are top dpsing now, but I pray that blizz would nerf it back during ICC because otherwise everyone will roll feral.

False. Faerie Fire (Feral) has a shared CD across forms, although the Bear variant does still grant the Omen proc.

The issue is that the way the spec plays now, it’s infeasible to bearweave as they did for more than 1-2 GCDs maybe twice or three times a minute, due to the new flooding of Cat GCDs.

So on paper it did not erase bearweaving, but in practice so far all signs point to yes with an asterisk.

I could be biased, since I play Feral. But I dont see a problem with the change. Combat, Assa, Demo, Affi, Arcane, Survival, Unholy, Frost DK and… probably missing some other specs, all of them are at the S tier level and fighting cats.

So… the issue is not cat are too strong when half the specs in game can perform the same. Other specs are just not strong enough.

I am more curious to see how this will scale. Since its expected for Cats to scale quite well in ICC gear.

The real picture is that Feral is 6th atm overall in Ulduar. And thats at 95%, which is not even the ultra sweaty. And I chose that because the higher you go up the further cat falls behind.

So yes, Feral is a lot better, and will get even better once we min max the new way to play. But currently, your statement is very inaccurate.
