Was just watching MadskillzzTV’s vid, and I was discussing this on a community discord as well.
We have Water Shield, but unlike Earth Shield, it returns Mana based on melee damage only. Why not change this to any damage?
Also in combination with Reactive Warding, this imo would make more sense.

People can run out of mana in PvE?

It seems, I run every Mana return talent in the trees, but some do, esp. on high keys.
I guess you’ re saying, Mana Shield is just for PvP purposes ?

The mana issue can be solved in a moment, in many different ways, the problem that Blizzard don’t want to do this, for some reason.
I am actually surprised because I haven’t run out of mana in a very long time. Even when I have to spam Chain Heals and Healing Surges due to extreme party damage, the group dies before I get to the point where I go oom.
You have a lot more experience than me based on your progress, and your mana bar is even larger than mine (for reasons I cannot explain -=EDIT=- It’s from Farseer Hero tree, just noticed it), but check if you can equip an Insightful Blasphemite to further increase your mana by another 110k or so. Also, are you using Healing Surges where Healing Wave could be better? Are you using Unleash Life almost on cooldown to make your heals more powerful? Have you tried trinkets that do not focus on Intellect but on mana returns? Is it possible Totemic is more mana-friendly due to the free healing from the all the Chain Heals and additional duration of Healing Stream?
Maybe a bit simplistic of me, but the reason I was surprised about people saying Farseer is more Mana intense, is that with Totemic, you get free chain heals, afaik, they don’ t cost any Mana. But probably overlooking something, plus I haven’ t played Totemic for a long time !
