Solved! "Game Not working after patch 8.1"

After hours and hours and hours of research I’ve found the solution.

And indeed it is not from Blizzard side!

I have dual graphics card intel HD/ Amd HD.
So here is the solution:

  1. Take a look at your integrated graphic card and see if supports your OS : htt.ps://community.amd.com/thread/190079 (remove dot from t.p)

I was on windows 10 64x wich obviously my INTEL HD 3000 didn’t support that OS and that’s why couldn’t switch to Dedicated AMD

Now I am on Windows 8.1 64x and the game it’s working like a charm on DX11!!!

Please let me know if it’s working for you too!

Edit 1: First time i opened the game without bnet app, now i opened my bnet did some update it’s not working again!

Edit 2: Uninstalled my GPU drivers (Amd) and it’s working on integrated graphics card INTEL HD 3000, it looks like the game don’t want to run on AMD

Downgrading to Windows 8.1 is not a fix, but changing it to use DX 11 might be.

Here’s something that I copied from the other thread that was posted by Lænnorth, it might help:

what did the trick was to switch two lines in the ''Config.wtf" under \World of Warcraft_retail_\WTF to SET gxApi “D3D11” and SET gxMaximize “0”

Wow don’t see my Radeon R5 230 he see only Intel hd graphic.

Intel & AMD chips with latest drivers, reinstalled game, still just black screen/freeze. looks like the patch is trying to run on my backup Intel graphics…

Problem: WoW after patch 8.1 fails to initiate the dedicated gaming graphics chip when starting the game, and uses the default Intel desktop graphics chip (which can’t run Direct3D, etc.) instead…

FIX: in Control Panel, go to Power Options, then Advanced Options. Change any and all graphics options to ‘MAXIMUM’ on battery and adapter. Apply, and reboot. This will channel the game directly to your now-active gaming chip.

It’ll also suck power and heat up your laptop, so reset power to ‘system defaults/recommended’ after gaming…! My package temperature is sitting at 81degC when in game…
