Then there must be such a small number of people playing SoM that no one else noticed it.
You may want to check when your AV/firewall software last updated.
I studied ict dottie and worked in it for years. (also as sys admin on various os-es)
Trust me when i say all that is under control and working as intended.
If i get booted from server and every other internet service i am using at that time is functioning normal, chances are almost 100% that it is the server end. Now it can be the route there, but that is unlikely.
Since it was at night there may have not been a lot of people noticing. It can be server end dropping a network segment after all. That is how server safety operates when there is ‘an attack’, but as said, it might also be a routing problem at that moment for a section of connections. Obviously me being in a part of NL and SOM being all of Europe and beyond even, chances are quite small that people play on the same (large) network section. Heck you might drop an entire (small) country at night and chances are that from the 500 to 1000 people on the server, only 1 is from that country.
Why do you persist in calling it my end when i already said it isnt?
Did you study anything wrt networking?
Let’s leave it alone as I know how Blizzards systems work from getting small snippets of information about them over many years.
“World Server is Down” is another example of something similar to what happened to you. It’s not actually the server down but the way the client disconnects from the server.
Also “A character with that name already exists.” is actually a bad disconnection too.
