Servers of the same sort should be merged. PvE and PvP should not.
RP realms is not something I personally care for, but I understand that there is a community that does, so having that as a separate thing is probably good as well.

Currently some are us went back to the era Cele since Blizzard murdered the TBCC one, and i don´t want to lose this realm…
We have still a small, but active community on Evershire (Everlook & Lakeshire Cluster) and Razorfen.
They intentionally do not leave to Pyrewood (despite the FCT are there) because they don´t feel comfortable playing on an english realm (at least not all of them).
Connecting all to one cluster wouldn´t leave them a choice (currently, at least on Cele english speaking players often leave again if they realize, that most don´t speak english or don´t speak it well).
But i guess, it´s what´s going to happen.
My only hope are the RP realms that they won´t touch them (or at least make Cele the “preferred realm for this reagion” and leave Cele “intact” this time…)
There are two issues people are talking about with full/empty realms. The first is the actual population and second is the people doing high end raids, one can be busy if the other isn’t, and vice versa.
Personally I think most of the people are doing Raids in guilds so do not need to list them in the group finder or on the LFG channel. So if someone cannot find anyone to do raids with then joining a guild may help.
The main point I am trying to make is that for example the now dead PvP2 cluster (with gehennas and more) should be merged with the firemaw cluster, since they are the same “type” no language difference, no pve/pvp difference, no RP/non RP difference or anything like that. There is no reason for there to be a dead cluster that could be merged when it fills the same function.
All similar situations should be solved.
NA realms can transfer SoM characters to Era or WoTLK servers from the 18th of October. Does anyone know when EU realms will be entitled to do the same?
I think, literally everybody can agree that having two PVP clusters is useless. They should mergd them. Same for the two German PVP clusters.

And I agree (for all PVE/PVP Realms, except the RP Realms).
I am just saying it would be great if the former language specific realms would remain their own clusters. But i doubt this is going to happen.

I did both raid, do dungeons, and organize them in original Wrath (both before RDF was implemented, and after), I don’t this time around, I’ve gotten old and want to take it easy and do what I did not do back then … and fish and cook which I still love.
But I still can see in /who the groups in Dungeons and Raids and see that they indeed do take place. I only need to disprove his statement, not to make a raid.

because one 10 man group can make people interested in raiding to move there.

There is no need for even more people.
Except some people, who don´t understand “we are at max capacity with our current tech” no one wants even more people there.

That’s why the biggest thread on the Wrath forum is opening Firemaw, right? That’s why there’s no queue in over a week, right? Because you play the realm and know all of this, right? On your non-existent character. If you do throw me your name I’m online right now on the same name as I’m posting - but that won’t happen now - will it.
Yes, I know that there is no queue anymore.
Firemaw had one of the smallest queues of all realms i monitored (Gehennas had the largest one, followed by Venoxis (fun fact, was never locked, does only not accept PCT for whatever reason), then Firemaw, Golemagg and then (for some days) Everlook.
Didn´t check the other language realms.
However, there are still 12k Alliance people in the LFG tool. At least this morning when i was logged in. At 10am? don´t know.
This is not dead, and it doesn´t matter how often you repeat this nonsense.
Its just possible that WoW does not provide the environment you would wish - and that´s fine.
There ARE games with mega realms/single realm MMOs out there, but WoW is (at least atm) not one of them
