Some of the AWC casters lack professionalism

Not only most of them are entitled but also snowflakes. Few years ago I criticised Eiya and it started a storm. Calling me sexist and mysginist. I’ve never said it’s because of her gender. I actually like the fact that there is a female so it’s more diverse.

Eiya improved over the years and I came to commend her on it.

Now everyone probably noticed the new caster - Lythi. As host like Eiya I don’t mind them but come on. Guy is mistaking Primordial Wave with Elemental Blast. And that’s just one example. As host you have to be entertaining and have a personality but as caster you have to be professional and knowledgable. Ziqo, Ven and Supa have many rank 1 titles background so they understand the game. No matter how many hours of practice you cannot compensate it.

I gave them such feedback on X. First thing I got is that I try to downgrade their work. Awsome…

They are public people they have to deal with criticism. Nobody has any problem with them as person. Just rating their work. I’m a musician (making rap beats). I get different feedback. Sometimes some rough criticism but I deal with it. There are pros and cons of being public. Dealing with criticism is one of the cons. Fame is the benefit.

Taking everything personal is lack of professionalism. People have to stop being so sensitive.

All the casters make mistakes when it comes to spells and talents

Venruki called a Ret’s Divine protection Desperate prayer (there was no priest on either side in the game)

Ziqo called Adrenaline Rush Burning Rush at one point as well

Does this matter? No
Does this make them less good casters? No

I don’t understand why so much hate, especially on Lythi, I think the guy is keeping up with talking speed, actually trying to put some emotion to it, sure, sometimes he makes some kind of cringy jokes, but he’s new, you can tell he is putting effort, regardless if that effort is being hated on or not

If anything, all the casters combined don’t make as many mistakes as Eiya alone, but that is also fine, and she doesn’t deserve hate either, as she is also trying to do her job

People need to stop hating and throwing their non-constructive opinions on everything on the internet. Obviously that won’t happen, but it’s fairly boring to read.

100% sure you or anybody else wouldn’t take pointless petty small critisizm like this as anything less than harassment or toxicity. You’ve proven it yourself being unable to agree to any facts being shoved in your face on the forums.

I don’t even know why I’m writing on this thread, as I’ll get some kindergarden level reply such as “DH opinion lul” , but I’m bored so it’s time to fly away to the next post

:airplane:

There is a difference with mistaking Divine Protection with Desperate Prayer in the middle of the action because both are defences and 2x Rush spells and saying Elemental Blast - a spell that Resto Shaman never had in the post game analysis.

I don’t hate Lythi. In fact I think he would be a great host like Eiya. Nobody expects the game knowledge from them but entertainment so we aren’t bombarded with 3 rank 1 nerds discussing the games only. Eiya’s job on the panel isn’t to comment on the games and not make mistakes but to bring that average viewer vibe and to make it also more fun and she is doing great. She improved over the years.

Also show me where I hated on them. I said that they (because I think Lythi is non-binary so stop calling Lythi guy. Make some effort to check) are doing well in terms of personality etc. but missing goes is a bit too much for casting WoW arena. Arena isn’t Dota 2 where you’ll comment that player X died and player Y escaped. There are casters paired with a pro in Dota 2 matches for this purpose in WoW you need a bit more knowledge to cast it well.

I agree with people who are reasonable you are biased and many people here know it and admit it. There is no discussion with you because you behave like you know everything the best even while being proved wrong many times. My opinion about you didn’t change and I still think you’re the most class biased person in the history of EU forums so yeah “DH opinion” is still alive when you talk about the state of the game.

P.S.:

I change my mind. Lythi actually showed professionalism. They asked what I liked and not and I gave my feedback. Lythis shows a great attitude and mindset so I wish them all the best and successes.

I kinda like all of them, that new fella puts in a lot of emotion, so its makes watching a lil bit more exciting. All of them do some minor non important errors.

Lythi has potential, his energy and style is somewhat similar to Venruki.

But he has some improving to do… He tries to take as long as possible to say whatever he wants to say (unnecessarily long sentences and drags out pronounciations), and sometimes just spams nonsense. For example, guy started ranting about the weather in the EU because a frost mage casted stuff. I get he tries to be entertaining, but it’s just distracting and annoying.

Now I have only watched the awcs from two weeks ago, so maybe he has improved already. Other than this I don’t mind him at all.

Actually in terms of energy Lythi is a bit like ODPixel from Dota 2 casting crew. Not sure if it fits AWC though but I like Lythi’s attitude towards it. Looks like they will improve and do better. I told they to ask Ziqo as imo Ziqo is the best in terms of base overall knowledge and Lythi will improve.

Reading twitch chat always cringes me out no matter if it’s Lythi or Eiya they are raging about. This “women talking, mute” translates to “i am an incel who has never seen a womans private part outside of a certain website”, nothing more. Lythi, well… i find this whole lgbtxyzabc±/ thing weird but it doesn’t affect my daily life so i couldn’t care less. Live and let live, i also judge by merrit.

People these days are just fast to judge and scream hate speech because history has shown that people will hate you for your lifestyle decisions and will insult you for it no matter where.

It’s not about gender or biological gender. It’s more about the fact as someone mentioned Lythi talks about Frost Mag and then suddenly for a minute talks about how cold it is in Europe (when there almost 30 degrees in Poland that is considered cold) when it’s not related at all, missing go or a kill, mistaking spells or talking how Whaazz has no CDs even though the game is over. That was rather the case.

I don’t know if this type of casting with anegdotes about the weather works for WoW arena. In MOBAs when there is farming stage you can talk like that because nothing really happens but in WoW you have constant fight and there is never downtime in the middle of the arena game but as I said I had a convo with Lythi on Twitter I liked the ambition and with them all the best.

What I like about Lythi is that he’s immediately opened himself up to criticism and is actively seeking to learn and improve. I had a conversation with him about what he could do better and what he could do less of and he completely welcomed it. Although obviously this lovely community ended up completely bullying him and ended up arguing with each other so he ended up deleting his Tweet asking for honest feedback.

Compared to Eiya, don’t you dare criticise her otherwise you’re a disgusting misogynist that hates women in gaming. No, she’s just bad at her job.

WoW is an extremely difficult game to commentate on and they have one take at it with it being live. He’s doing very well and I think he will continue to get better. Are people forgetting how much Ziqo struggled when he started out?

Eiya on the other hand…yikes. 0 professionalism, 0 personality, 0 charisma, 0 knowledge. When your job is ‘Let’s play a map guessing game! Let’s play a spell guessing game! Oh please excuse my dog barking…again! Here’s my cat! Oops I forgot to mute! Oops I forgot to unmute! Oh look time for a break!’, then it’s time to go.

Did he? I thought he did well on Yaspresents tournament so they hired him. Maybe I missed it.

100% on point but her role on the podcast is different than Lythi. She is a host so she isn’t there to cast games or for the game knowledge she is like Jimmy Fallon of AWC to entertain and keep the schedule as you said. She is actually there so Ven/Supa/Ziqo don’t bore average AWC viewer with their nerd sweaty rank 1 talk. She has to crack a joke have a nice conversation ask not really game related question but something like how do they feel etc.

Lythi on the other hand is there to cast. I think he would be a great caster for MOBA games. There is a little bit of downtime where he can say these anegdotes etc. Arenas are constant action with no downtime but we will see how will he do. Actually I think that Supa as caster is the best. His predictions aren’t the best but nobody hypes the games as much as him. I like Supa/Ziqo duo the most as Ziqo is the most insightful. Ven has huge knowledge as well but he doesn’t hype with his casting as much.

Lythi is good at hyping for sure. They can talk fast so with good pronounciation but I think that WoW is so complex that there is a lot to catch up. Maybe if Lythi would be paired more with Ziqo it would work better.

When I say struggled I meant in comparison to the standards that were already set regarding pacing, tone etc.

She’s there to ask questions about the games and series. She spends more time typing in Twitch chat trying to be funny than actually watching the games and coming up with decent questions to ask. Seems like they’re all pre-set.

He just needs to stop with the random story telling at 50% dampening when massive CD’s are being used. I have massive respect for him, he’s even started to queue more arenas to learn more.

I think he’s doing great but he’s jokes are kinda cringe every now and then haha

I was only annoyed about Lythi.

He talked …s…l…o…w… at those crucial moments.

One time some1 died. And after 3 sec supatease interupted him by saying: (NAME) DIED!! Since Lythi didnt say it.

Then even 3 a 4 more seconds after that. Lythi starts saying he died… and more other things.

The others maked some mistakes aswell. But total fine. Since they are good overall, and understanding 100% wats going on. Since there is so much happening. Its fine if u mess up few things.

But Lythi is just lacking. And if some1 dies he doesnt even say it, untill 5 sec later. Jeesh keep up.

When someone died. I was like. Wats he alking about!?!? Some1 died! :man_facepalming:t2: he keeps talking like game is still up haha.

Big + to Ven, Supa and Ziqo

the problem with him is just, that he is “too” exited, or sounds like this, he should do more breaks, and come down a bit

because he just speaks too much, i dont mind mistakes when someone is new

funny thing is, he looks like Healingstats lost brother.

idk for me, i just dont like girly voice commentator, i just like more the man voice when it comes to sport (but its a own opinion)

i mean yeah, but everyone is a human at the end, and first of all, activision isnt professional

and people like lythi, what are not experienced are WAY CHEAPER

it’s to save costs welcome to america, the country without unions and 10000 layoffs

that’s just today’s brainwashed society, what can only watch videos with temple run in the background, and think toxic body positivity is good

to be fair, the dh copy paste memes are kinda funny sometimes

best conditions for onlyfans

I mean let’s not go this way lmao

My problem with Eiya is that she doesn’t even look like she is interested in this AWC. It feels like she treats it like 9-5 job and she isn’t truely excited about the games. She is doing her job - logging of and going back to her own business. She doesn’t give the vibe of Dota 2 Shiver or Sjokz from League. She is more like Kacy from the casting crew. She worked in TV before and then was hired as Dota 2 host/interviewer. Sjokz came up from the other game and Shiver actually played Dota on dailly basis and you can feel it. She is truely excited about these games. That’s why I think Lythi would be a great host as there is this vibe of truely excited viewer.

But there is huge difference between them. Lythi was hired as a caster with some caster background as they commented some other games. Ziqo was firstly a player and nerd and then he became a caster. That’s a completely different route.

I think that’s also a reason why most Dota 2 hosts/casters are way more likeable as they all come from Dota 2 player background. Even if they weren’t a pro but you can clearly see a passion for the game before the passion for casting role but well maybe we should be more inviting as Arena community. We are more of a dying one with lack of new players and our game mode being extremely hard to get into. Maybe we should be actually more open. I feel actually bad for being harsh to Lythi yesterday.

Eiya did a decent job when they had LAN’s and all she had to do was give an interview to the winning team before sending it back to the desk.

The point is people didn’t immediately write Ziqo off or hurl abuse at him, at worst they insulted his voice. Lythi is getting hounded and gets borderline bullied. Why? He has great potential, and he has the humility to actually ask viewers for feedback that he tries to act on.

I mean it’s hard to hate on Ziqo. He was liked among the community before he became a caster. Lythi is a new guy and people don’t like changes. Probably they will get used to Lythi as well. I had a nice convo with him/they and I actually became a fan because of the things you mentioned.
