This post has nothing serious to suggest, but I think the current classes still have a lot of potential for new specs.
This post will not suggest how exactly the classes will work in many terms. It won’t explain anything about their balance too, just some imaginary stuff. I am not going to suggest anything unique as almost everything above already exists in the universe. Also, there will be some suggestions for reworks. You can suggest your classes and specs as well.
There is no general class forum, so I decided to post this here.
Warrior - Gladiator
One spec that I imagine would be called a Gladiator. Their armor values would be lower than Arms or Fury. I think Gladiator can be a DPS spec with a very rough fighting style, with one weapon. The Gladiator can use throwing javelins and throwing spears. It can have really high mobility, but low durability. Some skills can let the Gladiator use punches, throws, and kicks, so there’s a lot of potential for stuns.
Warrior - Blademaster
This is a very popular DPS spec. We had this in Warcraft 3, and we also have Samuro in Heroes of the Storm. If you are not familiar, Blademasters can use some simple magic, such as invisibility or cloning themselves. They use katanas and other sharp and quick-type of weapons (immediately parrying a weeb attack, I know that in irl katana is not considered as a fast sword, so calm down). Blademasters don’t have too much defense, so they rely on high damage and quickly finishing their enemies.
Warrior - Dragon Knight
This is a tank spec with high damage, but lower defense than Prot. Doesn’t use shield and heavily relies on parrying. This spec can use some dragon aspect magic, especially fire magic which allows for a lot of AOE and healing with fire magic as well.
Hunter - Rage Bearer
I just didn’t come up with a good name (like if other names are good here, lol). The idea is to create a spec that will tank with the pet, just like Rexxar in Heroes of the Storm. The hunter still can do a lot of damage and redirect the threat to the pet. I imagine this as a hard spec because of multi-control, but the high damage can compensate this.
Hunter - Crossbow Knight
This would be a hybrid of ranged and melee as a DPS spec. The spec can equip one one-handed and one heavy crossbow. When approached, the spec can parry a lot and fight very well in the melee distance, but when there’s an opportunity, it can kite back and try to shoot some heavy bolts from the distance too.
Mage - Sand Mage
Nothing too much to say here, pretty much Chromie. The class can use sand magic and have some buffs directly coming from Nozdormu.
Mage - Fire Aspect Mage
This would be a healer spec with good damaging abilities. Just like Red Dragons, the fire can be used both for damaging and healing.
New Class - Outlaw
Remove the Outlaw as a spec from Rogue and make it a separate class with two specs. The first spec can be Bandit with rough street-fighting skills. The second spec will be Pirate. A new item can be added to the game, a pistol. So many great transmogs can be executed with fantastic blades and pistols. Bandit will equip one dagger and one pistol, but Pirate will equip one one-handed and a pistol.
Priest - Ranger Priest
Something like Tyrande. This DPS spec can use bows, although this might let some players use guns with transmog which will ruin the spec a lot. I mean, a priest with bullets sounds bizarre. Or, instead of the bow the class can hold warglaves.
New Class - Cultist
No, this not a warlock. Warlocks use fel magic, but cultists use lich magic or similar dark magic. Cultist will use HP as a secondary resource for fighting. One spec will be called Lich Master, the second one will be the Necromancer. Cultists will focus on damaging enemies with dots and bloody rituals. Necromancers will rely on raising skeletons and undead and curses.
Warlock - Golem Master
This will be a caster tank spec. Just like the hunter with the pet, the Golem Master can tank by commanding a golem. Because the golem is huge, this allows a lot of aoe smashing ground skills. Sometimes, Golem Master can sacrifice the golem for huge aoe burst damage with aoe stuns, and summon new Golems from the sky.
Warlock - Rework on the Demonology
Instead of having millions of imps, I would rather see different types of demons spawning after Hand of Gul’dan. After the cast, portals can open and all types of minions can come for a fight. So, Demonology will feel like a real summoner, not a BM hunter with some suicidal imps. Although, I enjoy this class very much now, but it still feels incomplete. Also, please give Hand of Gul’dan’s skill much more serious sound effect. It doesn’t sound like a meteor is falling down. It more sounds like a gun shooting, or a book falling on the ground. It sounds more like the elbow of Gul’dan.
Paladin - Apologetic Scholar
This a Paladin DPS spec that refused the light, apologized all the players for playing this class for so many years, and rerolled to Warrior.
Druid - Nature Commander
The Balance Druid feels more like a cosmic druid. Almost all the spells are related to cosmos. I would like to see a new DPS druid that will use the nature’s forces, like Malfurion. The druid can hit enemies with winds, rainstorms, and other nature forces not too related to the elements.
Druid - Trent
Pretty much a tank spec that transforms into a huge tree and tanks the damage. Because the tree is really big, it can have a lot of AOE damage with smashing the grounds.
Shaman - Earth Shaman
This would be a tank class that uses earth elements to empower himself and reduce the damage. A lot of cool earth-related skills can be used to AOE and protect friendly targets as well.
Monk - Guilty Scholar
This a Monk DPS spec that refused zen, apologized all the players for playing this class for so many years, and rerolled to Warrior or Apologetic Scholar Paladin spec.
Vengeance Demon Hunter - Rework
Instead of having a jumpy tank, I would rather see a DH tank that is often in a Demon Form with huge muscles and crazy metamorphosis. The more damage it takes, the more damage it can do. And the more damage it takes, the more demonic form can deform into something really crazy. This type of DH would be the opposite of Havoc. While Havocs rely on mobility and quick strikes, this new tank would rely on heavy sustainability and good berserk abilities.
So, I totally understand that 90% of what I have wrote would be super hard to implement with good balance, but dreaming is not illegal, right
?
