Only those are the real Void Elves. Anyone who wasn’t there in Telogrus and didn’t get turned doesn’t get to call themselves ren’dorei.
YOU don’t decide that. Blizzard decided that. And according to Blizzard both natural skinned Void elves and Alleria are Ren’dorei.
Again, sorry it doesn’t fit your gothy agenda of a Void elf race.
If that was a thing, void elf npcs that roam around SW would get any of the new customisations. Spoiler alert, they didn’t get any of that since Shadowlands prepatch. The only Void Elves you’ll see in SW are the real void elves.
I could not have said it better!
If you go to Telogrus you can see High elf Wayferers learning the Void and becoming Void elves. It was confirmed by one of the devs. Void elves are too few to be considered a race, and this is how they increased their numbers.
Nah, not real void elves. Just the first void elves. The first generation. It’s been quite some time in lore, the Ren’dorei are recruiting and are finding new ways to safely study and harness the void.
I haven’t seen them becoming Void Elves. That is purely your headcanon and interpretation. Just because they learnt a Void spell or two does not make them Void Elves.
Locus Walker (the NPC who is literally standing there and teaching them.) and one of the devs confirmed it.
Clearly you know nothing of Void elf lore lol.
No, but it certainly includes them in the ranks of the Ren’dorei, especially the devoted ones who abandoned Silvermoon to go study the Void with them.
Just because he teaches them it doesn’t mean they become void elves.
I know what interview you are speaking of, and it at most vaguely implies that there could be a possibility of more void elves being recruited. Nothing confirmed and set in stone.
“They start out as a small group,” Danuser continues. “But it’s natural as other elves have found out about them — elves who are interested in new sources of magic, power, or opportunities — would see if they could undergo a similar process. They’re not ... recruiting, necessarily, but they’re open to those who show a similar interest.”
It’s just a suggestion that they might be looking into ways of replicating what turned the real void elves into what they are. Not lore.
If it’s stated by the lead narrative quest designer then uhm yeah it is technically canon…
Oh, so they become unicorns instead?
I’m not wasting my time trying to teach someone who doesn’t even want to admit Alleria is a void elf despite the lore and Blizzard themselves saying so.
Clearly the only lore you will accept is the one that fits your gothy agenda of a Void elf
Have a nice day
This would be a perfect solution

Take a close look at the wording.
"elves who are interested in new sources of magic, power, or opportunities — would see if they could undergo a similar process."
This sets a much different tone than something like,
"Void Elves have been recruiting others and allowed other uncorrupted elves to call themselves ren'dorei."
The line’s very vague and by no means confirms that there’s indeed been other void elves. Neither does it confirm the existence of abomination that a resident Alleria fan cals calls ‘natural void elves’. The fact that they didn’t put a single one of the new customisations on the Void Elf NPCs while they have been adding prepatch customisations to existing characters of other races only reassures me about that. They’re not Void Elves. They’re not meant to be.
How is it an ‘agenda’ to stay true to what the race was supposed to be in the first place? You high elfers have had an agenda from the start. The moment you saw Void Elves, you thought “yes, this is ours, we need to make it more like high elf and rid of all that makes the models different from blood elves”.
I really like the braids on the girls <3 I like them more than I thought I would! I think they could make a braids toggle right? Then people can choose if they want braids added or not! But not a braid for the ponytail one heheh that’d be a bit odd xD
You do know Void elves only happened because of the High elf request for 15 years? You do know that, right? That’s why they brought back an iconic (previous) High elf Ranger (Alleria) and turned her into a Void elf. That’s why the lore looks rushed. They never existed prior to that.
Exactly! Because they are High elves, they are the second theme of the Thalassian elves we have been so generously granted by Blizzard
Because that was the exact intention of Blizzard when they gave us natural toned skins and now normal hair colours =). Blizzard is not against the High elf theme for Void elves. Void elves now have two themes. Void corrupted, and High elf (uncorrupted).
You can also just call them Void corrupted elves, and uncorrupted elves.
We got the customization.
“Let it gooo. let it gooo”.
Ehm ehm…. Natural or not. Void elf or not. We both exist now and that’s that.
There is no need to argue over a silly name. This is why wow is such a childish game people be fighting over customizations like 12 year old children, and meanwhile games like FF14 with a mature playerbase have 10 times better customizations than wow does.
Keep arguing. I’m done.
I think High Elf fans have to be some of the most entitled fanbases out there. Not only they wanted to strip the Blood Elves of every single customisation out there and think “oh pretty, I want too” whenever Blood Elves have something good, but now they also have essentially claimed the Void Elf race for themselves with little concern for those who like the race what it is. Honestly, seeing all the high elfers hate on Void Elves for what they are since the very moment the race got shown and also asking for more customisations that’ll turn the race into something it’s not meant to be is just sad.
You should say that to the delusional High Elfer who keeps calling them “natural Void Elves” and pretending they’re something more than that.
There comes the “wow bad ff14 good” argument. I thought you’re better than that. Seems like I overestimated you even when my expectations were as low as they can possibly be.
To be honest FFXIV has better customization than WoW. It’s worse than WoW in some other things, but on the customization department it’s better. And also. Lalafels instead of gnomes. Bite me! Lol.
Anyways, this thread is about fixing the places where the tentacles are now missing when toggled off, either by applying some hair strands or braids. It’s not about anything else, but about the option for the hair to still look as amazing as they can be without tentacles on.
