Guys, I think something is really going down with relation to the original zones,
I mean, no way in the void they’d miss out on the opportunity especially right now that everyone is talking about it, as well as those improved / upscaled or downright remade models that are being datamined and showcased on wowhead.
Selective zones, maybe… but I highly doubt they’d be revamping old zones to HD quality just for people to completely bypass right to end game in whatever land it’s set at.
Agreed, i dont think they have got the season dungeon rotation right in DF. by the end of season 3 we will have seen less DF dungeons than old dungeons which i think is a bit of a miss.
I definately dont want to go back to Cata again, was the worst time and the only expansion that i didnt bother playing at all.
I personally don’t care what continent or zone we’re in as long as the raid and dungeons are good.
That being said, I do think some of the EK/Kalimdor zones need a new coat of paint.
I find it hard to believe they didn’t manage to rebuild the outer wall of Menethil and drain the water out in this many years for example.
Seeing how pretty much the entire story revolves around Azeroth, I think some form of revamp would be appropriate.
The game is also in dire need of a better leveling experience and more evergreen features.
Well i hope they dont, it failed last time and Cata was the first expansion where player numbers took a bit hit. I would hope they learnt something from that.
This is also true. I really disliked Cataclysm because they changed everything so much. Places, quests, npcs … some of it was for the better but (to me) most wasn’t. However I’ve been wandering so long now that I think I would take the Old Country in any form except for no change to the basic geography - where the mountains are, where the towns are etc.
A leveling path that makes sense and has a bit of soul. WoWs leveling is such a bad new game experience. The pacing is so off that youll be barely half way through an expansion before youve outleveled it and then have to go back and trawl through what remains.
I would personally rework Chromie Time to be where new players are involved in snapshots on what happened during that expansion period. E.g
1-10 - the story of Classic
10-15 - the story of TBC
15-20 - the story of WotLK
Etc etc, with culmination of those snapshots of expansions being scenarios that introduce the basics to new players, e.g in TBC snapshot we finish with a battle with Illidan with NPCs and the new player can be taught basic raid mechanics.
Finish those and the new player is 60 and into Dragonflight, whilst not wandering how we have got to this point.
To keep Chromie Time in its current form for players who have already hit 70 to level alts through, but rework the dynamic scaling or add the option to remove it, or, failing that the options to adjust difficulty (ala LOTRO) to bring some journey back to the game.
