Something odd going on with items that have DMG procs

Heya all

When i got the Ring from the cobalt assemby, the Assembly Scholar’s Loop (25k dmg proc), i was happy because it raised my dmg for 4% (ill just use the rounded numbers).

Later the Primal Ritual Shell droped, it can be defined to have a 45k fire proc. And i was happy again because it raised my dmg for 6%.

But then i was confused. Reading the DMG these two items did, when used together.

80% of the times this will happen:
Assembly Scholar’s Loop has 4% over all dmg
Primal Ritual Shell 2%
Total 6% more dmg

Or the other way arround
Primal Ritual Shell has 5% over all dmg
Assembly Scholar’s Loop has 1%
Total 6% more dmg

20% of the time they seem to proc equaly
but also max out at 6% more dmg over all.

I dont understand. Should they not proc for 4% and the other for 6% of my dmg, resulting in 9-10% more dmg?

It is like they are behaving like “on use trinkets” wich force a 30 sec CD on the other trinket. I don’t know if this was allways the case with Dmg procs in WOW, since i never had more then 1 of such items on my chars.

But it seems like a Bug that limits the procs and dmg you can generate with dmg procs on items and forces some kind of limit on them, capping them at 6% no matter what.

If so, then there is no purpose to use more then one dmg proc item.

What do you think? Did you observe simillar things, or is this just me?
