In general I’m positive about the implementation of Celestial Dungeons, I think this solution has worked well in both WotLK and Cata overall.
But with that said, I think there’s something that needs to be considered here, that I don’t see being talked about on the forums, or by content creators.
I can already call that loot distribution in dungeons is going to be a grief-fest, since it has been a problem in Cata, and to a lesser extent WotLK. It’s basically down to player behaviour, and I don’t expect this to change. Basically, in RDF-dungeons you should only be allowed to roll need on an item if your class can use it. So a warrior or a hunter should not be able to need on a healing or spellcaster trinket, and a priest should not be able to need on a melee or tank trinket. This is unfortunately relatively common these days. It sucks losing out on your BiS gear to someone that can’t even use the item in any shape or form.
I would also consider making gear that drops in RDF dungeons non-tradeable to combat people boosting their guildies and trading everything to one guy. It gives players unfair advantages, having several extra rolls per item.
The only downside I can think of is that this would encourage votekicking players that compete with your desired loot even more, but overall I think these changes to how loot is distributed will make gearing less annoying. I don’t think there’s anything you can do to remove griefing completely, players will always find a way, but you can atleast try to reduce it by design.
If you have more suggestions how you can reduce griefing and bad behaviour, please feel free to drop them below.
