Son of Hakkar tamed Pet Loyalty

I tamed the Son of Hakkar when i was level 60, 3 days ago. Since then he has not gained a single level of Loyalty (still rank 1) despite me keeping him ‘Happy’ (green icon fed) consistently and even unlearning his talents twice.

Ive been out killing high level mobs with him whilst well fed.

The added kick in the teeth, since i unlearned his abilities, i cannot re-learn his lightning breath ability at any rank so he’s pretty much useless now.

Im not sure what else i can do except abandon and re-tame which i’d rather not have to do as its fairly time consuming and I have already wasted so much gold on keeping him fed with his never moving rank 1, Rebellious, loyalty

as far as i know, if the pet has the same level as you, they dont gain experience at all anymore until you are ahead of it again.

Its not experience as its level 60, its the loyalty which isn’t linked to its experience as far as i am aware

oh right, i misread that, sorry.

mh, i cant find anything specific on the internet to it except reset talents once you got lightning breath rank 6 and kill mobs that arent grey to you while hes well fed and keep on trying. :frowning: sorry. maybe someone else knows how to solve the problem.

Loyalty gain

To gain loyalty required both xp gained and time spent. The following table was found by [Mania’s Arcania]. Basically, to gain a loyalty level, your pet needed to, no matter what, gain at least 5% of the XP you, the Hunter, needed for your next level. This was required even if your pet was your level (which means they weren’t actually gaining the XP). But there was also a time component on every loyalty level past Unruly. For example, to get to level 4 from level 5, you not only needed the experience gain, but an hour had to pass. This, as Mania says, is why sometimes your pet would ding loyalty while you’re standing around in town-- you had gained the experience, but the time had to pass as well.

To get to rank … XP Gain required Time required
Rank 2 (Unruly) 5% of hunter’s xp at current level 0 minutes
Rank 3 (Submissive) 5% of hunter’s xp at current level 30 minutes
Rank 4 (Dependable) 5% of hunter’s xp at current level 45 minutes
Rank 5 (Faithful) 5% of hunter’s xp at current level 60 minutes
Rank 6 (Best Friend) 5% of hunter’s xp at current level 90 minutes

no idea why you cant re learn the abilities though, maybe its bugged and its worth trying to write a ticket about it.
