its a pretty solid 100+ fps which is not bad for a crowded place
RAM isn’t gonna help you that much in WoW. Your CPU does most of the heavy lifting, which is why I grabbed the 5800X3D recently, and it runs this game smooth as butter.
Damn, then it is absolutely due to RAM speed unless 12900ks doesn’t have any WoW-specific advantage over 5800x3D which it shouldn’t. I’m on 3600hz 32GB so that’s probably the starkest difference.
Also btw, what settings are you running in game and did you find that any specifically hammer the CPU?
I have it too but the game still can’t crack above 70/80 fps in Valdrakken and that’s when staying still, when flying through it’s a horrid mess.
Indeed, that is kinda unacceptable, considering the entire engines design goal is “to offer low end support”.
It is because of his/her CPU. 5.6 GHz are a very insane speed on average. I mean, my new CPU will have 3.8 as default and 4.8 overclocked. My current gaming laptop I use for WoW and other games has 2.4 as default and 3.2 as overclocked GHz speed.
the game runs smooth here
in and outside valdrakken
my setup isn’t top either
2 years old
i9-9900
RTX 3070
no notable issues anywhere in the game
i think some addons can cause fps drops for some people
That is also true. Some addons are not that optimized. Gladly I only use very few so I know it is a CPU/RAM problem on my laptop.
i think linus tech tips got a amd into 6.2 ghz but thats not a speed people will reach since they used liquid nitrogen cooling i use a top end water cooler and my cpu has a light overclocking but even without that it’s still over 5 ghz
okay nvm, people already pointed it out
It is.
Valdrakken runs better on my Mac Mini M2 (<2 TFLOP/s compute) than my RTX 3080 desktop (over 30TFLOP/s compute). This should obviously not be possible.
I thought, and have said in the past, that it was simply because it was very good looking and had very high requirements, which is true - but there’s something seriously wrong on top of that, and it only affects the PC version.
EDIT: same UI folder by the way. It’s not the UI.
I will have like all of germany wind power plants in my tower, cooling it
So many ventilators, almost feels like a decompression chamber
I’m at around 90-100FPS while standing still, and anywhere between 60-100 when flying around in a crowded area. Depending on how many players there are. Lower FPS is to be expected in crowded areas in an MMO in the open world, but with my setup it’s definitely nowhere near being a horrid mess. I’m running at 1440p with most settings on low, and apart from very minor stutters when players are being loaded in on the screen, it’s very smooth.
In case you were gonna ask, alongside the 5800X3D I’m running an RTX 3070Ti and 32GB 3600MHz CL16 RAM.
4090 + 7950x here (with 32GB 6000/30 RAM), graphics on max with ray tracing, 4K resolution. Valdrakken is around 70-100 FPS.
I mean, not surprising with high-end hardware of the current spectrum
