I’m sorry but WoW’s graphics are terrible and need an upgrade. 10 years ago I remember riding my ashes of al’ar around and thinking wow, what an amazing game, such beautiful visuals. Now I’m just disappointed.
How does wow expect to last with these old graphics?
After playing elden ring and coming back to wow im so disappointed…and unreal engine 5 is coming out soon. Blizzard its time for a major graphical update or this game will be overtaken by ashes of creation and the new league of legends MMO.

I prefer it like this.
I actually turned down Graphics to 1 today, Because at 5 (recommended) it started to get really hot a while back and i just got tired of playing in a sauna.
I think if they update graphics my comp will explode.
Also, Black desert have the best Graphics out of any MMORPG, But that has yet to overtaken WoW.
Graphics mean nothing, only the actual content of the game does.

If they are to update the graphics it should be atleast to a EU5 degree. But… That would take SOOO long to be implemented.
Therefore… I would suggest keeping the graphics but improving Animations, Combat, Talent Tree and Item progression system to something more interesting.
IMO that would be a better way of “development time” spent.
I have hopes for Ashes of Creations aswell. But soooo many “Wow killer” MMO’s has risen and fallen before Ashes. I highly doubt Ashes will succeed.
As of today 2022.
Black desert is the best graphics MMO with the best Combat system. But even That game wasn’t strong enough to “kill” wow.
WoWs problems are many but the graphics are not one of them. Unreal engine feels lifeless to me, yes it can look pretty but it lacks passion.
So disagree from me.

WoW is built on a custom engine made by Blizzard a very long time ago iirc which is old and has some limitations, you’re not going to get an unreal engine 5 type of experience graphics wise and that wouldn’t necessarily make the game any better. We’ve been lucky enough that Blizzard has been able to add modern things like multicore support and DX12.
In terms of MMORPGs WoW actually has some of the smoothest gameplay compared to some of these more graphical MMORPGs running on newer engines. Graphics aren’t everything.

Graphics are fine and iconic imo. People usually play it out of enjoying the gameplay, friends or because of addiction. Added unreal engine or w/e will just end up making the graphics feel as souless as the story.

My opinion is i disagree with you because those old graphics as you call it it’s what makes wow iconic and plus it makes the game more available for all PC specs heck i remember playing vanila wow on some old pentium 4 PC xD.
So yeah i don’t really think wow needs an unreal engine graphics because not many people including me have the money to buy over 1k or 2k plus euro PC to play the game.
Especially now with the economic crisis thats happening around the world.

Have you seen the Unreal Engine videos of WoW, OP? Yeah it’s cool to see it, but it looks NOTHING like WoW. This game’s look and style is iconic, and that’s how it sould be. Should it be full HD and high resolution? Absolutely yes. But it should be ‘realistic’ like those game running on unreal engine.

Meh, if i want real life graphics then i go out for a walk. I prefer videogames with graphics that makes me feel like i’m playing a game.
Graphics also have no relevance when it comes to the quality of a game. New World had nice graphics in the way you mean it, and it died in 3 months.
