Add a weekly “Soul ash cap”, that would be equal to what you can earn by doing your 2 Torghast runs.
Allow Soul ash to be earned in dungeons (more ash in higher difficulties), raids, world quests and PvP
There you go.
People who want to optimize their time will still do Torghast because it’ll be faster.
Some will just do 1 Torghast wing and earn the rest by doing what they like in the game.
Some will exclusively play dungeons & PvP and will eventually reach their Soul Ash cap by the end of the week.
Number 1 is very good, it would make late people like me keepp up with soul ash, because now i have everything to make legendary but i’m week late meaning 810/1250 soul ash, pretty frustrating.
The combination of the two ideas would make it super alt-friendly.
The cap would increase every week, so you wouldn’t be limited by your weekly Torghast runs and you could catch up with other activities.
I’m affraid that people who struggle in Torghast with possibility to drop soul ash elsewhere would drop Torghast content completely, ignoring it till the end of expansion.
I dont get it ?
Did they announce new expansion yet ?
What is difference if you craft legendaries in 2 weeks or 2 years ?
Speedruning fan ?
Or some e-sport competition ?
Common optimization before raid and harder content, you don’t get it? okay, but different people do get that we need to be optimized to make our chances to complete raid biggest as possible.
And? Like seriously and? Just like mage tower people can play it when it becomes easy enough for them or whatever. I shat on torghast but thus far it has bored me for 2-3 hours already this expansion. It’s boring content, but I have to do it. Stop making mandatory content. Let people play what they want and if someone is not playing a content get the hint. It is bad, inefficient and unrewarding for that player. If everyone is not playing certain content than delete it coz it is really bad. Get the hint. Seriously. Or try running a restaurant with the same standard and customer service and what not. Be out of business within a week.
If Raids and m+ can be mandatory content to gear up, torghast is the same mandatory content to get legendary memories and soul ash, simple as that, if you don’t like it then it’s your problem honestly.
I can get behind the idea of getting soul ash from high end PvP activities - Arenas and RBGs. For the sake of differing PvP players and their choice to play only pvp.
Implementing Alt catch up mechanics will help as well.
But the challenge of reward with difficulty scaling should remain. I see no reason why should someone spending more time and effort into activities should get same amount of ash compared to someone who can only do 2 levels of it.
In prevoius expansons, gear from raids and m+ has never been advertised as an expansion feature. Legendaries in this one certainly has been, it’s been a huge focus. You can’t compare those two systems.
Legendaries are expansion feature, and torghast is a way to get legendaries, if someone doesn’t like it then what do you expect? Blizzard will redesign the game for people? I hated Islands yet i had to do them weekly for huge azerite power and a map.
Thorgust should be exclusively for cosmetics ,and soul ash should drop from all sources so people can reach weekly cap by playing branch of the game they like the most.
how would it be optimal to do 2 separate activites instead of just doing M+ or arena and earn the soul ash passively? why would you do activity 1 and then activity 2 instead of just doing activity 2 and get activity 1 rolled in for free
Only reward from game (and time invested in playing) should be pure and instant FUN. Not imaginary items that promise you sense of future power and meaning, which is getting stronger if you get them first.
I know, its WoW, a serious concept designed by best psychologist for creating perfect enviroment for growing addiction.
But you can beat it (without deleting account)
Oh, and btw, Hardstyle:
In BfA there were MANY ways to get azerite. To my knowledge, there are only two ways of getting ash, Torghast and a few adventures (table missions). You CAN NOT compare it at all. If you compared the BfA system with anima, then I would agree.
But you didnt, since you didnt make sure to cap out on Soul Ash the first week.
Getting a legendary this reset or next week isnt at all interesting or gamebreaking at any time.
only those who raid for world first need to be 100% optimized since they will squeeze out every last bit of performance.
Anyone else? No need to be 100% optimized since you cant play at such a high standard that those few % here and there really do matter that much.
Are you playing mario or what? Even common guilds require being optimized to make chances bigger, guild run is not free for all lfr run, at least in my guild, and GM require some dedication for your spot.
