Soul Ash for alts

i made an alt just after the weekly reset, and i didnt get the last weeks quest from Bolvar (obviously) for Soul Ash,so i just wanna know since theres no catch up mechanic for alts now,do they plan to introduce it at some point?

Probably when the expansion is nearly over, yes.
But even now, it’s really easy to have alts if you have neither a job nor a family.

Got both, alts too. I simply do not need to cap soul ash on most alts, it’s okay if they get their legendaries later (or in the case of the majority of my alts, never). If all the alt’s ever gonna do is low M+, WQs and the like, there’s absolutely no need to ever step in Torghast, except for the odd quest.

but what if you dont/cant finish both layer 3s, then youre behind aswell

If you cannot finish a layer 3 you don’t need a legendary anyways. If you really want to do, you can just do the layer approrpiate to your skill. Will take more time, but that is natural.

no i finished them,im just asking in general

Put some clothes on!

I don’t need no clothes to finish a layer 3, and it’s nice and warm in the Queen’s Conservatory. O:)

…and that’s a problem, why exactly? You rarely need multiple alts on the same power level as your main. It’s okay if they’re a little behind. And if you can’t finish layer 3, you’re not doing content on that char that needs you to cap soul ash anyway, so it’s best to chill out, relax, and get your legendary later.

Character that dings a week later is a week behind.

More news as we get it.

It’s completely fine to enjoy casual content.
But not everybody wants to play casually, and having competitivr alts is tough.

Then it’s your choice to maintain multiple alts at a high level, and that comes at a cost. Soul Ash is still one of the smallest ones, mind you. If you can’t spare about an hour (or in many cases, 15 minutes) a week to cap soul ash, do you really need that alt at such power levels?

You’re right. That comes at a cost.
Which is why I’m complaining, since prior iterations of this very same video game allowed me to maintain multiple alts at a high level - without a cost.

No, they did not. In BfA, we had Azerite, Essences, and Corruption, all of which, individually, took more time than Torghast. I haven’t played between Cata and Legion, but in WotLK and prior, you still had much more chores to do on an alt than you do now in Shadowlands.

Maintaining an alt at a high enough level always had a cost. In Shadowlands, that cost is pretty low (apart from gearing, which has been a pretty major part of it since forever).

I skipped BFA for that reason, yes. That and the continued pruning.

Well, had you played between Cata and Legion, you’d know that for years, none if this was an issue.

I got the impression that Legion had an incredibly stupid RNG legendary system for the most part of the expansion, where you either got lucky, or you didn’t. That must have made keeping alts competitive a pain in the backside.

The legendary system in legion was bad even for main chars.

I wanted to grab a weapon for healing spec, I mainly played dps on that character. Pick loot spec as healer. Get healer legendary. Nice. Really nice.

On my priest I got sephuz first, then I got the neck, then I got the boots, it took me ages to get the one I actually wanted - the cloak. I only got it when they finally added a currency to buy them for.

Torghast is nerfed , last week was harder now it’s easier, did it on my drood (guardian spec ) alt and it was fine , just finished both 3’s this evening .

I feel like the way torghast and the weekly cap for it works is no different than actual gear.

if you miss out on a raid reset or weekly chest item from mythic+ or mythic0 world tour, there’s no catchup for that either, you just have to accept that you missed it and get a shot at it next week.

which is different from something like renown where you actually do need catchup because otherwise with there being like 40-50 levels you’d quickly be 3-4 months behind on basic char progression.

just my thought on the matter, plus you can craft a new legendary every 2 weeks as it is right now anyways I think?

You’re right. It was a pain.
For PvE players. They were disabled in PvP entirely.
