Lucky freaking bastard. Didn’t get mine yet and getting people to run this is really freaking hard while soloing just takes eternity with my “not so quite P1 BiS” gear.

My friend reroll’d to holy paladin and Ibasically carried him through it on my warrior. Kind of unfortunate for people without friends, because normal mode just isn’t worth doing any people that aren’t healers.

But that’s just how it goes.

My friend does help me occasionally but it’s not like I have him on my beck and call and my luck is terrible. I’ve only ever seen it drop once and a Healer needed it so I just passed it on. And unlike me my friend is busy doing Ulduar runs since I kinda fell into a trap of not being able to catch up. Even if by doing HC+ and grabbing gear I somehow clear the threshold for gear I still lack the experience and no Pug/Guild/Semi-guild run is willing to take that risk. Especially that most groups already moved to doing Hardmodes.

Soul Preserver gets replaced by an Emblem-purchased trinket (Talisman of Resurgence) in P3 so we can just let it fall into Oblivion by itself. Meteorite Crystal is all you need for extra mana regen.

The core issue is getting it. Because Soul Preserver (and to lesser extend Seal of Pantheon, though that gets upgraded relatively fast even if you need extra defense) drops from highest level Normal dungeon (narrowing time you’d do it during leveling) and doesn’t drop anything remotely interesting for anyone but Healer it’s not exactly easy getting a party to farm it. Pugs generally don’t care and even in guild you’re bot guaranteed to find a group for that task.

I believe it really depends on the class we’re talking about. For Holy Paladins Soul Preserver holds very unique advantage as it procs from extra heals generated by Glyph of Holy Light which is what most Holydins are currently using. On fights where group stacks this makes Soul Preserver a BiS alongside Meteorite Crystal. ToR would likely only edge out if you’re primarily use FoL as a healing tool compared to HL.
