Soulbound items

Sooo, I’ve been trying to farm a weapon for my monk for 2 weeks now and haven’t dropped a single thing. Fair enough, just bad luck I guess.
I log onto my Arms warrior and immediately drop a titanforged 1h sword from a random epic mob. Why won’t you let me mail this to my other characters? BfA is alt-unfriendly enough without this soulbound stuff. At least in ESO not only is your bank universally accessible with every character on your account, but you can transfer gear, so if a particular character is missing something, you can share it from an alt until they find their own. This is good design. Locking every single thing to one character is just awful, especially when you have essences, AP, reputation, etc to worry about.
Sorry, but I just needed to rant, and I really hope you look at making the game more alt friendly in the future. Benthic armor is a great start, but it’s just not enough.

Agree, would love to see items on my characters accessible by characters on my whole account, such as Benediction and MoP legendary cloaks. Primarily because I don’t play those characters that got those items anymore.

I really think that the soulbound system is a bit outdated, would really like to see it updated to something more modern.

i agree too. in GW2 there is an account wide mats bank, and like you said, some (if not all?) gear can be swaped between characters. i know for SURE that ascended (pink) gear can be shared, cause thats what i do.

the amount of times gear has dropped on alts that cant equip it when farming transmog is beyond frustrating as transmog and pvp is basically all i do now cause BfA is so underwhelming.

like you say, the soulbound system is very outdated now considering most people have alts of SOME level. and ALSO now that legacy content is a thing.

ALL transmog drops in LEGACY content should be BoA.

the only reason why this has not been done by now is blizzard are STILL using rng to keep us playing rather than actual content.

Tbh i don’t like the idea of all Gear being BoA. It just makes it worthless to Gear your alts since it would be better to just play on your main and send the gear.

It would also decreased the motivation to play different playstyles as you’d miss on Gear your main could share. It would be much more optimised to play similar roles (DH rogue druid monk, Pal dk war ect) than try different roles & Armor types which is imo the main point of toons : trying something different

Others things in the game could be made more alt friendly but i don’t think Gear is one of them

I would disagree. Some of my alts prefer haste, some crit, and some versatility. So while I may borrow gear from one alt, it will eventually be replaced with items that enhances the current spec, meaning it’s always worth grinding out gear.

Yes but it’ll still be optimal to play with your main right ? That’s the issue i see, the feeling of wasting your time because you should rather keep playing on the same character than play a toon

Isn’t that one of the essences criticism btw ?

There are pro & cons to your suggestions and i don’t deny that it could help dealing with Bad rng or Gear up alts. I just think the cons outweight the pros

The way BfA is designed, yes. Because as I said, you still have to grind essences, AP, reputation and whatever else. Being able to transfer gear to alts will at least take one thing to worry about off the table.
Besides, what on earth am I supposed to do with a really nice 1h weapon locked on my Arms Warrior? I can’t AH it for gold, I can’t trade it to someone else who needs it… all I can do is sell it to a vendor for pittance. While every other MMO is getting with the times and allowing BoA items, WoW is still living in the dark ages in terms of making alts more friendly.

You’re fully entitled to your opinion, but I really don’t believe that at all.

My younger brother plays ESO and yes I too really liked the banking system and gear exchange options I seen while he played it.
