Sound and dialogue stops when alt tabbing, and restarts when going back to the game

i saw this thread on https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/sound-music-restartingstopping-when-i-alt-tab/688280 where others have been having the same issue ever since the shadowlands prepatch came out

its quite jarring to have the dialogue be silent whenever i check something from my other monitor for a few moments, has anyone found a fix for this?

I’m 100% sure it’s a combination of keybind using shift + something like that. I would definitely look into keybinds. I just didn’t have the nerve to do it anymore and play without sound.
